The Dutch producer’s arrival into the Drum & Bass scene came at the age of 16 thanks to his ferocious production abilities that were almost unbelievable for his age. Before [IMANU](https://www.instagram.com/imanunami/), Jonathan’s Drum & Bass outfit was called Signal and his debut release landed in 2015 on Overtech Music for an industrious 2-track EP. Looking at the talent on offer, Critical Music were quick to sign him up for two successive EPs on the label. Since then, Signal went on a run of releases on labels like Renegade Hardware, Shogun Audio, Invisible Recordings and built a catalogue that was almost envious for a producer who was 3 years deep in the scene. \[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZTSMdcf\_xY\] But that was the ability Jonathan possessed that every label was willing to champion his music until he decided to switch things up in 2019 and change his motif from Signal which was a razor-sharp Drum & Bass alias to a more immersive and intricate one as IMANU. Following the birth of IMANU, he co-founded *[DIVIDID](https://soundcloud.com/DIVIDIDMUSIC)*with Dutch producer Abis who was one half of Neurofunk duo, June Miller. That is how his new journey began in an already impressive chapter in Drum & Bass. In the last 2 years, IMANU has had releases on significant imprints such as VISION, Deadbeats, Heaven Sent, UKF and mau5trap, while remixing the likes of Apashe, TOKiMONSTA, What So Not & Skrillex. This run also extended to some explosive acts like Sleepnet, Mefjus, Halogenix and Buunshin. IMANU’s last release of 2021 was the intricate Drum & Bass dynamite remake of Noisia’s ‘Incessant’ and without wasting any time, he has kicked things off in 2022 with an emphatic return on Critical Music for two captivating numbers that combine experimental soundscapes and emotive underground atmospherics. Collaborating with him on the tunes are The Caracal Project and Josh Pan who bring their wide-ranging styles into tunes like Neiges & La Fournaise that are loaded with dynamism, rhythm and texture on top of the fresh, and cutting-edge sub frequencies.
