Although Dying Light is a game that definitely should have its own genre, it loosely falls into action, role-playing. It’s so much more, from incredible mechanics for parkour to the never-ending waves of zombies you have to fight off, Dying Light never gets old! For this week, we have compiled a list of ten games that are as immersive as Dying Light and give players a similar experience.  

With Dying Light 2 set to launch on February 4, 2022, the excitement around the gaming community is at its very peak. At this point in time, we’ve only seen the gameplay on theRadBrad’s Youtube channel but as far as what we can tell, the game will be a whole new experience, with a completely new and improved post-apocalyptic world, gliders that you can use if you jump from heights, and much more!

The Last Of Us – Part 1 & Part 2 

If you are a fan of the post-apocalyptic genre of games, and you’ve already played Dying Light, you will love The Last Of Us. It has an amazing storyline that is split into two different games. Developers, Naughty Dog, have really taken their players’ feelings for a ride in this game. 

Day Z

There are many post-apocalyptic games, but none will make you feel like DayZ. The game doesn’t contain a story but is massively multiplayer. Created by Bohemia Interactive, DayZ take place in a post apocalyptic world in Russia, where your only enemy isn’t zombies, but other players too. 

State Of Decay

Well If we wouldn’t add a horror survival game in this list it wouldn’t be complete. Created by Undead Lab, the game makes players gather resources, trust their friends, build and defend their base from zombies, and kill all zombies in the world. State Of Decay has two more games that act as a sequel and a DLC pack. 

Days Gone 

Players take control of a former outlaw named  Deacon St. John who is fighting to survive the broken world inhabited by infected humans, who are called Freakers. Scavenge though the last remains of earth and survive though hordes of zombie-like beings. Days Gone is developed by Bend Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment on April 26, 2019. 

The Walking Dead 

Based on the comic The Walking Dead, Telltale Games has brought together five games that follow similar events that happen in the comic book timeline, with each book becoming a game of its own. The story of the first game takes place in Georgia, USA, in which a university professor called Lee Everett starts taking care of a girl called Clementine. Lee then sets out on a quest to find out where her parents are and if they have at all survived. 

The Forest 

The Forest is one freaky game, with caves as mysterious as the island itself, and humanoid cannibals that have captured your son! With mysteries to uncover and your son to find, Endnight Games has developed an action-adventure horror game, in which players have to build a shelter, gather material, and uncover the secrets of the forest and its inhabitants.

Left For Dead 2 

Fight and survive through hordes of zombies known as the infected and reach all five checkpoints that act as a safe house. Developed by Valve, there are several game modes for players to play not only the storyline, but survival, single-player, and even versus your own friends. 

World War Z

The world is in panic as hordes of zombies have already killed the majority of the human population, and the ones who remain are on the run to find a safe house. Created by Saber Interactive, World War Z takes place in five different locations around the world: New York, Jerusalem, Moscow, Tokyo, Marseille, Rome, and Kamchatka. You better be ready for some action, the game can fit just close to a thousand zombies on your screen, and you with your friends will have to fight them off. 

Rise Of the Tomb Raider 

Having inspired new games like the Uncharted series, Rise of The Tomb Raider should definitely be on your list of games to play if you liked the exploration and adventure aspect of Dying Light. The game involves lots of puzzles that lead to a new door, fighting sequences, and a lot more. Developed by Crystal Dynamics, Tomb Raider is the eleventh game in the franchise and follows the story of Lara Croft as she discovers new lands and takes on dangerous foes. 

Back 4 Blood 

Back 4 Blood is a multiplayer, survival horror game developed by Turtle Rock Studios in which players either play as the ‘Cleaners ‘ who kill the infected that are called the Ridden. The game is massively multiplayer with two teams of four facing each other, it really will keep you entertained and scared!
