Flesh Queer Camping Music Festival is launching near London in May this year.
The music festival is being advertised as “the UK’s first queer camping music festival.” It will be a two-day event that will take place on May 28, 2022, and May 29, 2022, at Springfield Farm in St Albans. The Farm is around twenty-five minutes by train from central London. The site, the team told Resident Advisor, “sits within a secluded woodland with streams and ponds.”
Flesh Queer Festival wrote on their Instagram post: “Flesh Festival is the UK’s first queer electronic music & camping festival that is also pioneering festival lineup diversity. The party will be one huge celebration of forward-thinking LGBTQ+ energy!
Flesh is an event for LGBTQ+ individuals, their friends and allies. The festival is open to everyone wanting to have a good time. Springfield Farm is located in a beautiful woodland a stone’s throw from London, near St Albans in Hertfordshire, 25 minutes from Kings Cross.”
With Flesh, the team wanted to “create a space for people to be able to express themselves” and to “celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and the importance of this kind of event after having been forced away from them because of the lockdown,” as per RA.
Speaking of the curation, the team added that they were “fed up” with “the same lineups at music festivals.” They wanted to “make a radical statement by disrupting the norm and curating the lineup with 100 percent of the artists from underrepresented groups.”

There will also be a sober tent hosted by @riposte.london This will be a place where people can socialize, partake in workshops and panels, share their experiences and relax without any pressure.
With another first, 100% of the lineup will be made up of underrepresented artists. 90% of the line up will feature gender minorities in music including a spectrum of ethnicities. Many people talk about equality in electronic music but Flesh is taking real-life action to make it happen,” Flesh Queer Festival continued on their Instagram
According to RA, “confirmed acts include Chippy Nonstop, object blue, LSDXOXO, SPFDJ, Jossy Mitsu, Juliana Huxtable, Wax Wings, Shay Malt, J Aria, Lewis G Burton, VTSS, NIKS, Ifeoluwa, Jaguar, Angel D’Lite, Hyperaktivist, Lady Shaka and Ellen Allien.”
“One of the driving forces behind Flesh is representation, we want each one of our guests to look at the stage and feel represented, welcomed and inspired,” the team said. “That said, we didn’t choose our talent to fill quotas or pander to tokenism […] Flesh is the result of over a year of digging, hard work, research and curation with an approach to representation in an authentic way.”
Not only will there be music, but the festival will also have food stalls, pop-up shops, play areas, workshops, panels and an activity tent hosted by Riposte, as per RA.
