And Spencer Warren, aka Grey Code, sits in the top bracket of that sound. And Spencer Warren, aka Grey Code, sits in the top bracket of that sound. Long and emotive intros, razor-sharp drums, tantalizing basslines and resonant melodies, [Grey Code](https://www.instagram.com/greycode_/) gives us many reasons to fall in love with his music. Hailing from the southern coast of England, Spencer made a move to Bristol during his university years and immersed himself in the rich and thriving Drum & Bass landscape that the city has on offer. Grey Code bided his time and sharpened his sonic techniques before launching himself into the scene. When he did, the eclectic producer landed his debut release on the legendary Dispatch Recordings in 2017. The 4-track ‘Traces’ EP on Ant TC1’s label was also a testament to the ferocious ability he possessed, for his first ever release! Since then, Grey Code has built himself a powerful catalogue with releases on labels like VISION, Principle Records, Flexout Audio, and Locked Concept, before signing to Goldie’s [Metalheadz](https://www.youtube.com/c/TheMetalheadzTV) for the ‘[Reprieve’ EP](https://metalheadz.bandcamp.com/album/meta070-reprieve-ep) in 2019. After a couple of appearances on Metalheadz in 2020 and 2021, Grey Code is all set to unleash his debut album ‘Renewal’ on the label. The 12-track album is a sonic journey of Grey Code’s deep, soulful and intricately woven rhythms that have been crafted with care and precision, and from the breathtaking album, we are stoked to premiere the soul-stirring expedition of ‘Lone’. Known for his ability to weave through varied styles, Grey Code takes us back to the musical spectacles that he has delivered over the years, with a flawless balance of the light and darker realms of Drum & Bass music.
