Today’s Pick is Bleed by Mesck. Listen now!
With the release of ‘Bleed’, Dubstep tastemakers Duploc have exhibited their ferocious stature once again. Starting off the year with a bang, Duploc’s ‘BLXCK TXPES’ is a brand-new V/A compilation focusing on the deeper and the meditative sounds of Dubstep. Mesck not only chooses a flawless track for his debut, he also attests to the quality of the compilation it is included in.
Based in Los Angeles, the producer/graphic artist started out in the industry a few years ago, and since his debut, he has had releases on labels like Chestplate, Trusik, Divisionn and Gourmet Beats. As evidenced by his catalogue in releases such as Doomsayer and Terro Management, the musician has successfully grasped the aggressive mood of the genre, making it evident from his decade-long career that he is indeed a master of dark and gritty floor-shattering sounds.
When it comes to the folks who put together the compilations, Duploc is regarded as one of the foremost tastemakers in the world of deep and dark Dubstep. After starting as a promotional outlet in 2012, the imprint evolved into a full-fledged platform with live events, and a record label supported by a respected blog on which they promote exciting releases. Their aim is to champion the deep and intense sounds of the sub frequencies by hosting Dubstep awards annually and running the ‘Identity of Dubstep’ mix series. They want to provide listeners with a reliable view of the 140 culture.
