ODESZA makes a grand comeback after 4 years with “The Last Goodbye” which samples the vocals of Bettye LaVette’s hit song “Let Me Down Easy”. The track is a voyage beyond everything. Filled with groovy basslines, lush instrumentation, and LaVette’s emotive vocals, it connect us to ODESZA like never before. We are also presented with an extraordinary music video which takes us into farther realms.
The electronic duo, ODESZA, consists of Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight, known individually as Catacombkid and BeachesBeaches. Originating from Bellingham, Washington, they have made their way to being among the top artists in their game, into no less than elite status! They don’t need to keep up with time to put their music out. Their fans are always ready yet patient, aware that time makes great art, and ODESZA always delivers!
Their debut album ‘Summer’s Gone‘ was released later in 2012, which received acclaim in the underground electronic music community. In 2016, ‘Say My Name’ (RAC mix) gained the duo their first Grammy nomination (Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical) at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards. Their third studio album, ‘A Moment Apart’ was nominated for Best Dance/Electronic album, with the single ‘Line of Sight’ bagging the nomination for Best Dance Recording. Furthermore, Billboard named ODESZA #10 on their ranking of top dance musicians on the Billboard Dance 100 list.
The duo have founded and operate their own record label, Foreign Family Collective, which distributes songs as well as visual art from artists.
The meaning of “The Last Goodbye” remains unclear. Is it the beginning of the end or the beginning of the beginning? There is only one thing we can say for sure: they’ve gifted us with something that we will treasure forever.
