TFword Premiere: Phase – Frameworks

The Belgian wave of outstanding drum & bass talent is some of the finest the world has witnessed in the last two decades, and Phase falls right on top of that pile.

Championing his style of drum & bass music that blends old school patterns of the genre with his futuristic approach to productions and intense and piercing drum work, Phase is one of the most exciting producers in the scene.

Phase started his career in 2013 when he landed his first release on Demand Records for a 2-tracker with his long time collaborator LaMeduza. Since then, he has gone on a run of releases and he has built himself an envious catalogue on imprints like Fokuz Recordings, Vandal Records, Warm Communications, and Dispatch Recordings to name a few.

2016 is when he made the big move to Goldie’s Metalheadz and right from ‘The Traveller EP’,  he has cemented his place in the game as one of the most forward-thinking producers, fusing the light and dark world of drum & bass with perfection.

The Belgian’s last release with Metalheadz came in 2021 with label mate Grey Code, and now Phase has returned to the label. His debut album ‘Shore To Shore’ is a masterpiece that brings back the all-encompassing listening experience of a drum & bass album.

‘Shore To Shore’ predominantly features Phase’s solo productions while the collaborations come from LaMeduza and Tyler Daley. The album is one of his biggest projects yet; it lays bare the musical prowess that he has aced through years of dedication to his powerful drum & bass craftsmanship.

From the burgeoning producer’s debut album, we are bringing you ‘Frameworks’ for an exclusive listen. We are stoked to premiere a track that brings back the prototype era of drum & bass which had a heavy influence of the darker and ethereal tones of DnB music.

‘Shore To Shore’ is out on all platforms on April 22, 2022. Buy/Stream the album – HERE
