A duo of Katie Boyle and Max Rowat, [Koven](https://soundcloud.com/kovenuk) is one of the most unique and exciting acts to emerge from the drum & bass in the last decade. The combination of Max Rowat’s productions and Katie Boyle’s captivating vocals has seen the pair deliver some of the most iconic tunes in DnB like ‘[Never Have I Felt This](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7fuHEEmEjs)‘, ‘[Feel](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsFRw2wJcl8)‘ with titans Delta Heavy, ‘[All For Nothing](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEEW6UPpmW0)‘ and so many more. It’s not just with the drum & bass, their dubstep adventures have been equally seminal with monumental hits like the remix for Hadoken’s ‘[Levitate](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_yudtBvhCs)‘, ‘[Wake You Up](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQlX2nJK12Q)‘, ‘[Take It All](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9kA9GYOzHc)‘ with Modestep to name a few. Complimenting their productions is their DJing motif which sees Katie tour the lengths and breaths of the United Kingdom and beyond with sold-out shows across Europe and down under. Koven’s rapid rise as one of the giants in the drum & bass game took a brief halt during the pandemic but since the release of their 2020 album ‘Butterfly Effect’, the duo has gone on to release a deluxe and an acoustic version of the album alongside numerous charting singles. After their release with MUZZ on Monstercat early this year, Koven has now returned to the label for their first solo release of the year with ‘Take It Away’. Speaking about their latest tune to OZ EDM, Max Rowat [said](https://ozedm.com/koven-release-new-single-take-it-away/17503/#:~:text=%E2%80%9CWe%20started%20the,the%20Parallax%20Orchestra!%E2%80%9D) “*We started the EP at Middle Farm Studios in July 2021 and “Take It Away” was actually the first track we wrote, so it made sense to start here with the releases too. We then got a knock on the door of the studio and it was my old music theory tutor who was in recording with another band. He’s been doing all the string arrangements for Bring Me The Horizon, Architects, and others, so the strings you can hear on this record were arranged by him and recorded by the Parallax Orchestra!*” While Katie added “*I’m so excited for this to be our first single back after not releasing anything since last year. I think it’s something quite different for us but really special. It’s such a pretty track, it’s heartbreaking but also hopeful.
