Drum & Bass duo Artificial Intelligence is one of the most important artists the genre has to offer, and so is their label, Integral Records.
Founded in 2007 by the members of the Artificial Intelligence duo Glenn Herweijer and Zula Warner, Integral Records have been an unlimited source of powerful and emotional Drum & Bass. Known for their knack of spotting talents, Integral Records were the label to sign today’s heavywieights like Alix Perez, Lenzman, Lomax from Loadstar, Technicolour and many more.

They’re not just a pioneering label but a smart one as well. For over 5 years, Integral Records have been home to the genre’s best kept secret in the form of Dawn Wall, Mohican Sun, Kaloa and now Tatora. These mysterious names have a common thread to their music but despite relentless efforts of the Drum & Bass’ most prolific of hawk-eyes, they have been unsuccessful in naming the artists behind them.
The essence of Integral Records is their ability to let their releases breathe and use the natural space that the scene offers with the appreciation of quality being paramount and like always, they strated this year with releases from Fluidity and Thread, and now after two months, Integral Records have brought another up and coming talent TZ for a soulful 6-track EP.
Making a return to the label, TZ begins the ‘Native’ EP with ‘What You Did’ with a soulful roller featuring Integral Records’ classic style of drums. ‘Blue Waters’ featuring Dutch producer Edlan brings his shimmering influence to the tune followed by the the title track which is a charged up Liquid DnB stunner.
‘Stay In Touch’ with its gloomy vocal samples offers a more pitched down approach after the first three tunes. TZ then ends the EP with ‘Show Me’ and ‘Reminisce’ featuring delicate melodies and water-tight basslines.
