When Leicester-based Drum & Bass label YANA Music release music, it’s big, it’s flamboyant and most importantly, its meant for the dancefloor.
Run by Toronto Is Broken, who is known for his energetic style of dancefloor drum & bass with a powerful infusion of rock and metal, has been incredibly successful in replicating his penchant into a label since 2019. What started as a project to put out some unreleased music has now turned into one the best new labels in DnB.
YANA Music’s strongest USP is spotting untapped talent and turning them into heavy-hitters; and it has seen them bring some of the finest up and coming talents like Lateral, Perplex, Mojay, Sam Foxx, Beat Assassins and many exciting producers that champion the dancefloor side of drum & bass.
After closing 2021 with a mammoth compilation album by bringing the label’s best talents onboard for 24 DnB bangers, YANA Music began 2022 with the head-honcho himself along with tunes from Vypes, Lateral, MYKOOL, a compilation featuring Natty Lou and many more.
Fast forward to June, YANA Music has crossed the three-year mark, noting the occasion with a dazzling remix album featuring label regulars and fresh talents alike. The remix album features names like Perplex, Aktive, MYKOOOL, Sam Foxx and many more, along with Changing Faces, and Russla who will make their first appearance on the imprint.
From the debut appearances, we are stoked to premiere Gunston’s remix for Toronto Is Broken’s 2019 tune ‘Lose Control’. The French producer is known for his progressive and pulverizing style of music which he brings to full effect with a charged up rework of the original.
The YANA050 compilation will be out on all platforms on 17 June and its a complete package of drum & bass that encapsulates the modern style of the genre with the perfect balance of old school ingredients.
