The Prodigy announced the reissuing of their breakthrough album ‘The Fat of the Land’ to commemorate its 25th anniversary. The limited edition vinyl package will be available on November 4 via XL Recordings.
‘The Fat of the Land’ was their seminal third album that built the foundation of The Prodigy to be one of the most influential artists of electronic dance music. To mark its anniversary, XL Recordings will release 2LP silver 12” vinyl package of the original album with a reimagined version of Alex Jenkin’s iconic crab artwork. It also includes a brand new remix of ‘Firestarter’ by DJ and co-founder of RAM Records, Andy C, which is available to listen to now!
The acclaimed LP, originally released on June 30, 1997, comprised timeless hits such as ‘Firestarter’, ‘Breathe’ and ‘Smack My Bitch Up’. It has sold over 10 million copies worldwide since then.
Later this month, The Prodigy is set to commence their UK tour which will coincide with the anniversary merriments. It marks the band’s first tour since 2019, following the abrupt passing of singer Keith Flint.
“We can’t wait to get back onstage and play our tunes for the people again. The 25th anniversary of The Fat Of The Land felt like the right time for us to step up. We’ll be dropping tunes from all our albums and maybe some shit you haven’t heard before. This one’s for Flinty… now let’s fucking go!” said members Liam Howlett and Maxim in a statement.
