He conceptualized and worked on the collection prior to his untimely demise last year. The team at Louis Vuitton took over “Fall In Love” until its completion and runway debut. David Mancuso, billed as one of the first-ever DJs, played a pivotal role in the dance music scene. He conceptualized The Loft in the 1970s and it soon became a popular venue in New York. Frankie Knuckles, Nicky Siano, Jellybean Benitez, and Larry Levan are some notable regulars of The Loft back then. The venue, music and clothing resonated with Mancuso’s personal beliefs in civil rights, freedom, women’s liberation, the LGBTQ+ movement and psychedelia.
