From the legendary RAM Records’ second succession of the ‘Riot’ EP, we premiere Revival from the versatile producer, Conrad Subs.
Despite completing 30 years championing drum & bass from its foundation right up to its commercial success, RAM Records‘ pioneering appetite will never cease. Right from the genre’s formative years until its modern-day forms, RAM has consistently pushed supreme quality music while promoting the artists they believe in.
The London-based label boasts the biggest roster in the scene with artists Calyx & Teebee, Camo & Krooked, label owner Andy C himself, Chase & Status, Sub Focus, Wilkinson, Millbrook, and many more big names, forming their monstrous directory. An important arm of RAM Records’ undertakings is their sister label ProgRAM Records; an imprint that has been instrumental in giving up and coming talents a platform to showcase their work, eventually becoming a part of the label’s unstoppable talent conveyer belt.
As part of their impeccable release schedule, RAM Records released the ‘RIOT’ EP during the back end of last year featuring some massive names like NC-17, Sound In Noise, Jam Thieves along with some fresh talents. After nearly a year since the first edition, the ‘RIOT’ EP has returned for its second edition which is now out on all platforms.
From the thumping 9-track release, we are stoked to bring you the premiere of British producer, Conrad Subs’ ‘Revival. An active member of the jungle and drum & bass scene for over twenty years, the Ipswich-based producer formerly operated under aliases like ADK, Nifty and Sulako to name a few, before assuming Conrad Subs as his name in 2017, after a small hiatus.
Subs has seen releases on various labels, namely Program, Soulvent, Deep In The Jungle, Calypso, Nice Up, Delta9, Liondub International, and Manchester’s Nuusic, where he released his debut album ‘Tides’ in 2020. Channeling his style of gritty drum & bass music with a tinge of smartly manufactured atmospherics, Conrad Subs has made debut appearance on RAM Records on the ‘RIOT II’ EP.
Kicking things off on ‘Revival’ with a melodic intro, Subs takes us to the climax where we are greeted with a crunching drop that progresses and straddles between a number of styles of drum & bass.
