Lynx Returns To Detail Recordings With An EP

The accomplished drum & bass producer has returned to his label for a 4-tracker which will be the imprint’s first EP release since 2020.

A disciple of the golden era of drum & bass with his interests coming from the early generation of hardcore music, Lynx is one of the finest acts to have graced DnB. Despite being a purveyor of the tech-infused style of the genre which is evident right from his earliest releases, there is not a single style of drum & bass that the master producer has not explored.

Championing his funk-fueled style of production, Lynx has been responsible for delivering some of the most iconic drum & bass tunes, spread across nearly every major and respected label of the genre, namely Soul:r, Creative Source, Hospital Records, and more. Tracks such as ‘Meltin Pot’, ‘Special Agent’, ‘Global Enemies’, ‘Clap Track’, ‘WHAT!’ and many more have defined his supreme ability to play with different styles.

Along with several EPs and singles, Lynx has delivered three genre-bending albums on Soul:r, Hospital Records, with his second long release coming on his own label, Detail Recordings. With an eye firmly focused on attention to detail, the label has been belting out releases for over a decade featuring talents like Kusp, Kemo and the man himself.

Detail Recordings experienced a brief hiatus since its last release in January 2020, but the label has now made its long anticipated return, coming in with the label boss’ sweltering 4-tracker, titled the ‘Operator’ EP.

The EP begins with the funky and wobbly sounds on the title track, featuring Lynx’s classic tech-fueled style. The title track is followed by ‘Jungle Juicing’, a tune which is aimed straight at the dancefloor with an elemental Jungle drop. ‘Bring It’ is an exhibition of simple yet effective drum grooves that are brought into action with the tune’s unique sonic appeal. Lynx signs off the EP with ‘Rock This City,’ which ladles his love for heavily mystic and immersive over the tune’s raw and drawn out texture. An excellent way to return to action from Detail Recordings.
