HÖR to Launch a New Website on October 17

Set up in 2019, HÖR is all set to launch its new website along with a subscription service on October 17. The Berlin-based online radio station’s broadcasts will still be available to listen to live. They can be archived for free too, but the station will provide new features for its paid subscribers, such as a library of all its previous broadcasts. It also includes an option to save your favorite tracks and sets, a moderated live comment section, and tracklists for shows.

HÖR said this subscription, which launches this month, is set up to establish “a more sustainable revenue system by developing a fair-share model that introduces a new income stream for artists and keeps the operation up and running.”

Honey Dijon Reveals Details About Forthcoming Album

The NYC and Berlin-based DJ Honey Dijon is set to release her second studio album ‘Black Girl Magic’ on November 18 via Classic Music Company. Her upcoming fifteen-track album features multiple producers, vocalists, and songwriters, including Pablo Vitta, Channel Tres, EVE, and more. “I am proud to present Black Girl Magic, 15 tracks of attitude, energy, heart, and community,” Dijon states in a post shared on Instagram.

“This album is dedicated to love,” she wrote in a statement shared on social media. “Love of music, community, but most of all the love of self,” the Chicago-born music producer added. “Being true to who you are inspite of everything else and having the courage to love fearlessly.”

Dijon’s latest release of ‘Black Girl Magic’ is ‘Show Me Some Love’ featuring vocals from Chanel Tres and Sadie Walker.

Depeche Mode Announce New Album and Tour in 5 Years

Depeche Mode has announced a new album and a ‘Momento Mori World Tour’. The new album titled ‘Memento Mori’, the follow-up to the electronic band’s 2017 album ‘Spirit’, will be out in Spring 2023. It will be the group’s first album since the passing of founding member and keyboardist Andy Fletcher.

The English band, now comprising of members Martin Gore and Dave Gahan, will begin their 2023 tour in Amsterdam on May 16 with stops in Dusseldorf, Paris, Rome, Zagreb, Prague, Helsinki, and more. They will wrap up this tour in Oslo with a show at Telenor Arena on August 11.

“We started work on this project early in the pandemic, and its themes were directly inspired by that time,” said Martin Gore. He added: “After Fletch’s passing, we decided to continue as we’re sure this is what he would have wanted, and that has really given the project an extra level of meaning.”

Dave Gahan stated: “Fletch would have loved this album.” “We’re really looking forward to sharing it with you soon, and we can’t wait to present it to you live at the shows next year.” 

Note Releases New EP

Note has released his new four-track EP ‘Precious Tender Things’ on Goldfat Records. The Manchester-based producer made his debut on the label last year with ‘Things Fall Apart’ and ‘Don’t Miss Me’. Now, he has returned with his new EP which comprises 4 tracks – ‘Empty Spaces’, ‘Keep It Simple’, ‘Learn to Speak’, and ‘Honesty Matters’. 

“My new EP ‘Precious, Tender Things’ drops this Friday! I had a lot of fun with these songs. I’m super chuffed with the response these have been getting already and glad to finally let ’em loose,” Note wrote in a post shared on Instagram. “Big up as always to the @goldfatrecords fam for the support and love. And the incredible @luca.visual for the artwork!”

DnB Community Joins Forces to Support Flood Victims in Pakistan

Since June 2022, the Pakistan floods have displaced over 33 million people, with about 1700 people dead in the country. With about one-third of the total land area of the country under water, water-borne diseases like dengue and cholera are spreading; infrastructure like roads, railways, power lines, and bridges has been destroyed; grains and crops have been washed away; and nearly 15% of rice crops and 40% of cotton crops have been lost.

In these difficult times, the DnB community has come together to help Pakistan’s flood victims with a 93-track compilation ‘FLOODLIGHT: DNB AID FOR PAKISTAN”, which includes tunes from some of the biggest names in drum and bass to raise funds to support those in need. The compilation album includes unreleased tunes as well as brand-new ones that you can enjoy while contributing to a good cause!

“My sister Pyxis had seen the destruction on the news and hit me up asking if we can do something, and I said yes immediately,” Producer IYRE explained how it all began in an Instagram post. “I reeled in our trusted AR, my good friend, and neighbor Sagar Deshmukh and later he introduced us to Sinjini Ghosh who is behind the beautiful artwork that you see.”

They reached out to producers, labels, and artists, and many sent them some incredible tunes for the compilation album.

“We’re also bringing back a few of the OGs from the South Asian Drum and Bass scene namely the Nasha Experience crew, Osmani Soundz with 2 tunes, and Ges-E, along with Shandy have teamed up to create a really beautiful tune,” he added

“A beautiful representation of music, and how far genres such as drum and bass have reached across the globe. Incredibly proud of the representation this compilation comprises,” wrote Sasith Gamage AKA IYRE. “It’s a rare occurrence to see South Asian/Asian labels meeting together with the renowned labels from the UK and USA. DGTL Returns to India with A Deadly Lineup of Headliners like Solomun, Colin, DJ Stingray, and More

After a successful India debut in Bengaluru in 2020, the Amsterdam-based festival brand DGTL is returning to India this December. It is bringing a deadly lineup of international headliners, including Colyn, Dubfire, Lee Ann Roberts, and Solomun, whose performances in Mumbai and Delhi will mark his Indian debut.

The festival will be held on 9 – 10 December in Mumbai and 10 – 11 December in Delhi, with homegrown talents like Anyasa, Nida, and BLOT! among others, also slated to perform at the event.

REZZ Unveils Launch of New Label HypnoVizion

REZZ, who kicked off this year with her twelve-track album ‘Spiral’, has now announced a brand new record label HypnoVizion. While announcing her label, the Canadian DJ also revealed that its first release would be out this month. Details about the track or its release date are yet to be revealed.

“Hypnovizion has me feeling so fkn stoked. don’t even get me started on the themed events & merch I feel so passionate about this, much more than I ever thought I’d be(?),” she wrote on Twitter. “This is gonna be my top priority in 2023.” 

She also teased new music saying, “And ofc lots of my music will exit my laptop for your ears too.” Last week, REZZ announced the curation of her own “Festival-Type” event in 2023.
