Auckland-based drum and bass producer & DJ Witters and MC Crafty are returning to Longline Classic 2022 for round two. Kenyan-New Zealand musician Muroki’s performance at the Makaraka Racecourse is a part of his New Zealand & Australia Tour. Joining The Longline Classic lineup for the second time is No Cigar, who are currently on their Bienvenido Album Tour in support of their debut album ‘Bienvenido’. Their next show is in Ahuriri, Napier on October 21, and they will conclude this tour on November 5 in Tāmaki Makaurau.

When we asked for their comments on their forthcoming performance at The Longline Classic, they said: “Returning to the Longline lineup was a no-brainer for us, aligning nicely with the release of our debut album, Bienvenido, and its corresponding release tour. Gisborne seemingly always delivers, and we’ll be pulling out an upbeat dancy set to cater to the saucy spring revelers that frequent this festival.” “You can’t beat a festival crowd in full swing, so we’ll be pulling all the stops to get them going!” No Cigar added.

Here’s what Oceanspace said when we asked them to share a comment about their forthcoming set at The Longline Classic 2022 this weekend: “Labour weekend and the longline classic is a milestone for the band “Oceanspace”. At this time, two years ago, the band hosted arguably the biggest party seen in Wainui, the day after Longline. This is where they played their first set after only practicing a few times together. The energy was as big as the sun that day!”

“Since then, the band has encouraged a huge “jamming culture” in Tairāwhiti. The band has invested the funds made through performing into sound equipment, in which they set up all over. A party in Gizzy usually involves great sound, live performances and good times with friends,” they added.

“Oceanspace get together most nights to create new tunes and refine their material. They focus primarily on their live performance which involves a blend of genres which make you want to dance! Their music is positive, uplifting, theatrical and fun! They are very excited to absolutely send it at longline and can’t wait to see you there!”
