New Zealand DnB Scene Unites For Jay Bulletproof Fundraiser

Following the sudden and tragic passing of one of NZ’s brightest DnB artists, the community will come together to raise funds for Jay Bulletproof’s family.

The passing of Jay Monds, aka Jay ‘Bulletproof,’ during September of 2022, left an unmissable crater in New Zealand’s thriving drum & bass scene. The 46-year-young pioneer left behind a sparkling legacy, beyond his artistry, having heavily influenced the country’s musical exports, and with it, the genre’s commercial success.

In celebration of Bulletproof’s life and accomplishments, DnB’s top artists have joined forces for the Jay Bulletproof Fundraiser. The event is set to take place on Saturday, October 29, 2022, from 9 PM onwards, at Auckland’s Sweat Shop Brew Kitchen.

The event will feature some of New Zealand’s finest, namely Concord Dawn, Sambora + PDigsss, Tiki, The Upbeats, State of Mind, Truth, Trei, Chiccoreli, Tali, and 48 Sonic. The fundraiser sees donations from all partners involved, with the artists donating their time, and Krisp Design on artwork for the event; ticketing partner Ticket Fairy will also donate fees from ticket sales, and the venue, Sweat Shop Brew Kitchen, will donate 10% of all bar sales during the event.

Attendees are encouraged to participate in all the offerings of the evening, in celebration of Jay Bulletproof’s legacy, and in support of Jay’s close and extended family. The pioneer leaves behind decades of success, and a revered podcast. As of September 2022,’The History of New Zealand Drum & Bass Podcast’ has closed its third season, with a total of thirty episodes since its debut in 2021.

Those that cannot attend have the option to donate directly to the cause via Givealittle.
