CD Projekt Red Confirms Remake for the First Witcher Game

CD Projekt Red recently announced that they are working on re-creating the entire first Witcher game using new technology and better software, such as Unreal Engine 5, to give fans a much-needed treat.

Being one of the first games released by CD Projekt Red in 2007, the overall success of the title has been quite astounding over the years. Beginning with six novels and fifteen short stories written by a Polish writer, Andrzej Sapkowski, in 1994, that later evolved into the games we know today, not to mention the mega-hit Netflix show, The Witcher, which was heavily influenced by the very first game.

During the announcement, Studio Head, Adam Badowski stated, “The Witcher is where it all started for us, for CD Projekt Red” and further described what their plan moving forward is, with new stories and remakes of The Witcher Games. “It was the first game we made, ever, and it was a big moment for us then. Going back to this place and remaking the game for the next generation of gamers to experience it feels just as big, if not bigger.”

The project is being worked on by Fool’s Theory, a collective of AAA veterans who specialise in creating games we really want and have collaborated with CD Projekt Red in the past for several Witcher Games. Adam Badowski explained “Collaborating with Fool’s Theory on the project is just as exciting, as some of the people there have been previously involved in The Witcher Games. They know the source material well, they know how much gamers have been looking forward to seeing the remake happen, and they know how to make incredible and ambitious games.”

Along with the confirmation of a remade edition of the very first Witcher game, below you will see a few projects confirmed by CD Projekt Red, according to IGN, along with a small description of what is going to be in them.
