The celebrated house music record label has announced the sponsorship of London-based Dulwich Hamlet’s playing kits and main stand for the team’s 2022/23 season.
Strengthening its name as one of the major global ambassadors of dance music, Defected Records has now announced a partnership with south-east London based football club Dulwich Hamlet F.C. Having previously sponsored the back of the club’s men’s and women’s kits in 2017 and 2018, Defected has now taken a step further by sponsoring Dulwich Hamlet’s playing kits and main stand for the team’s 2022/23 season.
Along with sponsoring the main stand comes an inclusive slogan called ‘In Our House, We Are All Equal’ displayed in its rainbow font, which champions the label’s ethos of equality and bringing together unique differences beyond the dancefloor. Speaking about the partnership, Defected’s recently appointed CEO, Wez Saunders, said, “Our partnership with Dulwich Hamlet is a natural fit for us, with the intrinsic link between music and sport being such a vital part of our everyday culture.”
Part of Dulwich Hamlet Football Club is Defected Records affiliate Lucy Monkman, aka Monki, and speaking about the exciting partnership, Monki stated, “On the dance floor and the pitch, there are a lot of similarities. People might think they’re worlds apart, but they’re not. It’s the moments where you feel perfectly in tune with your teammates, the crowd, fans, and fellow ravers that are special. These spaces have provided me with a community, escapism, and, more importantly, somewhere to express myself.”
With a solid history of consistently delivering quality house music for over two decades, Defected Records is one of the biggest and most respected brands in global dance music. Home to artists like Dennis Ferrer, Jamie Jones, The Martinez Brothers, CamelPhat, and Calvin Harris’ Love Regenerator, Defected Records has built an empire that goes beyond the conventionalities of just releasing music.
Led by Simon Dunmore, Defected Records has released over 600 tracks that have achieved silver, gold, and platinum certifications. What started as a label has now spread its wings as an events, artist booking, and management company. The British record label has also held massive residencies in Ibiza, as well as festivals in London and Croatia.
When Simon Dunmore said, “We’re not a record label. We’re much more than that,” they meant it! Dulwich Hamlet Football Club’s kits, featuring the Defected logo, are now available to purchase via Defected’s online store.
