Etherwood Returns to New Zealand for Tour

Audiology has pulled out all the stops in the last few months, bringing some of the biggest names in the drum & bass scene to New Zealand. Recently, they have curated shows with Holy GoofBru-CURBANDAWN on his first tour of New Zealand, and Delta Heavy, to list a few! Up next by Audiology is one of the UK’s most promising acts in recent times, Etherwood! The first performance of his upcoming New Zealand tour will take place at the Hide Club in Christchurch on Saturday, December 17, 2022. Tickets for this gig are powered by The Ticket Fairy.

Etherwood will stop in Singapore and Thailand before continuing his tour of New Zealand. This tour encompasses shows in cities Auckland, Christchurch, Nelson, and Mount Maunganui, with three shows being held in Auckland. According to Spotify, Auckland has the second-highest number of Etherwood streams, second only to London!

Edward Woody Allen, best known as Etherwood, is a guitarist and music producer since the 1990s, but it wasn’t until 2012 that he released his first production. His works have been featured in the Forza Horizon video game soundtrack and the recent ‘Floodlight: Dnb Aid For Pakistan’ and ‘Together for Ukraine’ albums.

Taking to the stage at Hide Club on support duties for the evening are drum & bass DJs from Auckland Mikel Rothman Reds, Loonz, and 40K. Hide Club opened its doors in 2019 with the goal of giving the city’s renowned underground electronic scene a place to flourish once more. It has certainly lived up to its promise by housing duo X CLUBYung SinghPola & Bryson, and Bru-C, among others. Hide Club is also Christchurch’s only purpose-built nightclub and was nominated for the Best Club at the 2022 Drum&BassArena Awards.

Etherwood took to the Singapore Skydeck to announce his return to New Zealand. He said, “From next week, I am coming back to New Zealand, which I am super stoked about. Finally heading back!”

Supporting act 40K spoke to us to shed some light on the upcoming show, saying: “We’re obviously stoked to be a part of the night and there is no better place to host events like this than Hide Club. Etherwood’s taste is soulful and loved by many, so no doubt next Saturday will be a vibe!”
