Fred V, Upgrade & MC Trigga Will Open George FM’s New Zealand Tour in Gisborne on December 27

George FM’s Summer Tour 2022/23 of New Zealand brings together a stellar line-up of over 40 artists fanned across thirteen locations! Headlining at select venues on the tour are UK’s Frederick ‘Fred V’ Vahrman, MC Trigga, and Upgrade, who will be supported by a plethora of NZ-based drum & bass artists. Sugar Night Club in Gisborne will host the first stop of the tour on Tuesday, December 27. Get your tickets for the event via the Ticket Fairy.

The opening gig at Sugar Night Club will feature headliners grime, bass, and drum & bass artist MC Trigga, and DnB, dubstep music producer Upgrade (aka Samuel Smith). A string of performances by the fiery duo are scheduled for New Zealand, including a Christmas Eve gig at Christchurch, a concert at The Grand in Wellington, and the eagerly anticipated Rolling Meadows music festival. This will be Upgrade’s fourth tour of New Zealand.

The show starts at 9 PM and continues well into the following day! Artists announced for support duties for the evening are drum & bass DJ and producer Brigsy, Hyperficial, Eight-Oh (Courtney Laosie), and LIV b2b Amputate. Gisborne-based artists Tate Morrison aka Amputate and Liv ‘LIV’ Joblin will kick things off as the opening b2b act!

We got a chance to speak with Courtney Laosie aka Eight-Oh regarding the tour, who is slated to perform at the shows in Gisborne and Wellington.

“I’m super excited to be bringing my sounds and vibes to Sugar Night Club! Stoked to be on the line-up with the amazing talent and internationals. Excited to be ending the year on a high note with all my friends travelling from all parts of the country to come see me play before the new year begins.”

Sugar Night Club, which recently marked its eight-year anniversary, is a popular nightlife and live music and dance venue on Peel Street, Gisborne. Several artists have fired up the dance floor at Sugar Factory, including DJ Sirever & Mc Bigg Romez, Fairbrother, and drum & bass legend Danny Byrd.
