Watch Black Coffee Live at Bagatelle Tulum on January 13

Black Coffee, one of South Africa’s biggest house music producers, who picked up a Grammy award last year for Best Dance/Electronic Album for his 2021 album ‘Subconsciously,’ will be taking over Bagatelle Tulum on Friday, January 13, 2023. The tickets for this event are powered by Ticket Fairy.

The coveted DJ’s career in music has been growing for the last two decades, with his infectious sound cementing him as one of the most influential names in the electronic music realm. He launched his record label, Soulistic Music, in 2005 and released his eponymous debut album ‘Black Coffee’ later that year.

In 2010, he broke the Guinness World Record for the longest-ever DJ set by playing for 60 hours continuously. He made history in 2022 by becoming the first African artist to win a Grammy award in the Best Dance/Electronic Album category. The South African superstar is also known for promoting local talent and charities.

Nkosinathi Maphumulo AKA Black Coffee has performed before hundreds of thousands of people at some of the biggest stages and clubs globally, including Coachella, , Circoloco, Lollapalooza, and a summer residency at Hï Ibiza (which was voted the No. 1 club in the world by DJ Mag). In 2022 alone, he garnered 63.4 million streams on Spotify, rolling out the remixes ‘Reflections (Black Coffee Remix)’ and ‘Silence & Secrets (Black Coffee Remix)’ last year.

He kicked off last year with a gig in Tulum and toured across South America. Maphumulo also played at the Beckenham Place Park, Lightning in a Bottle music festival, and Sunburn Festival, and debuted at Primavera Sound. He also executive-produced ‘Honestly, Nevermind,’ Drake’s seventh studio album released last year.

He hit the road in Africa in November for gigs in cities including Johannesburg, Luanda, and Durban, and also played in Milan, Dubai, Cannes, Monaco, St Tropez, Mykonos, and more. Black Coffee ranked 39 on DJ Mag’s top 100 DJs in 2022.
