Everything We Know About the One Piece Odyssey Story

The Straw Hat’s ship, ‘The Thousand Sunny,’ gets caught in a storm near a mysterious and legendary island called Waford. With the ship in need of major repairs, the crew explores the island and finds Adio and Lim, two people residing on the island, who help kick off the main story of the game.

Eiichiro Oda, the creator of the manga, has been deeply involved with this project, having contributed to the story, character designs for Lim and Adio, as well as designing the enemies that the Straw Hat crew will be facing.

One Piece Odyssey is described as an action-adventure JRPG in which players can freely roam and choose their own battles, similar to games like Elden Ring, but with traditional turn-based fighting sequences.

Each character of the nine Straw Hat crew members has their own abilities, like Luffy being able to use his elastic body to reach higher places faster, Zoro being able to clear a blocked path with his swords, Chopper being able to fit in smaller spaces, and many more.

While playing the game, you’ll be quick to notice many side missions and puzzles you can solve that give you various rewards. Remember to use each character as they all have special abilities that help you solve or even get rid of the obstacles in front of you.

We are just as excited as you are for One Piece Odyssey and will be quick to make an in-depth review of the game once it launches. Players who’ve already pre-ordered the game will be able to test the Demo version, available to play from January 10, 2023. You will have the ability to explore the world as well as interact with a few enemies and non-hostile NPCs in a two-hour-long gameplay introduction!
