New Zealand-based music promotion company Distorted Promotions gears up to stage the second edition of its Summer Essentials showcase event on January 21, 2023! The finest drum & bass producers will be on exhibit at the Poedium Bar in Auckland. Beginning at 12:30 PM, attendees can enjoy the summer heat and chill vibes all while dancing to the beats of Lucy, System, 3 Iron, Nick Caldwell, Volkov, Mcleod, Finni, and many others! Like the previous edition of Summer Essentials, volume 2 will assemble a grand melange of local house and drum & bass artists for its day and night event. The indoor and outdoor settings will see sets from house DJ Lucy, techno trio System (Arrian Ryan aka Aztech, Thomas Chaney, and Vincent Mooney), music producer Nick Caldwell b2b with Alex Volkov, DC, Max ‘Gazz’ Jones and Dylan ‘Wask’ Moore producing a three-way b2b set, a three-way performance of Trident (consisting of Will ‘Slips’ Evans, Mitch ‘Riggy’ Eglinton & Jonny Surry) and 3 Iron.

MacLeod and Finni, Jhole and Selecta A4 will also feature b2b sessions at the forthcoming event. Drum & bass producers MacLeod and Finni return from the debut Summer Essentials held at Victoria Park ground in the Auckland city center. The line-up brings together some of the youngest talents in bass music, with a slew of them still in their early twenties!
System, a three-piece techno, breaks, and house group, has been creating waves in the drum & bass scene across New Zealand. This trio was seen at Southern Sounds 2022, Sets & Sails 2022, and multiple Distorted promotion gigs in 2022. Trident, the other b2b2b triad of DnB musicians based across Auckland, Tauranga, and Dunedin, is also on the bill for Summer Essentials. The group has been on support duties for Whiney + P-Money, Mollie Collins Boiler Room Show, and the recent Upgrade and MC Trigga show in Tauranga.
