The founding member of the famous rap & bass outfit Virus Syndicate has released a solo EP called ‘Doors,’ bringing the big guns of bass music to remix his track.
Pioneering the infusion of dubstep and grime through his Virus Syndicate alias, Nika D is one of the most important names in British electronic music. Since starting the duo over a decade ago with JSD, Virus Syndicate has seen monumental levels of success. Combining dubstep, grime, hip-hop, and bass, Nika D, with his Virus Syndicate outfit, has carved a niche that is exclusively theirs.
Growing up in Manchester, Nika D gathered the endless pit of influences that the musical epicenter of England housed. Parallel to being the founding member of Virus Syndicate, Nika D is also a media entrepreneur who owns content creation companies such as EY3 Media and Cvlture TV. For more than a decade, Nika D’s solo alias took a backseat, owing to his pioneering undertakings with Virus Syndicate, until 2021, when he decided to bring his solo moniker back to life with a bang.

Releasing tunes like ‘Redlight,’ ‘Creep Killa,’ and more, Nika D released some of the most important tunes in the rap & bass spectrum of the last two years. Now for his first independent release from Virus Syndicate and one that sets the tone for his forthcoming projects as 2023 kicks into play, Nika D has released the ‘Doors EP’ on the formative CRUCAST imprint.
Featuring the intense wordplay Nika D is known for, the ‘Doors EP’ begins with its title track, highlighting the seminal flavors that the Manchester-based act has been championing for years. The title track is then followed by three smashing reworks of the EP opener from Livsey, Exile and Samplifire.
Leeds-based Livsey is the first artist to rework the EP’s original, providing a jauntier bassline edge underneath the record and twisting its vocal layers. DnB connoisseur Exile then ups the ante with a proper drum & bass bubbler. Closing the EP is Parisian Samplifire who brings the snare-fueled, full-throttle vibes with his amalgamation of the US dubstep scene and his own take on the bass music genre.
With the release of the ‘Doors EP,’ Nika D is here to build on a steady platform, one which will see the growth of his artistry and the sound that he pioneers, as he sets his own path in 2023.
