Beach Break – a one-day music festival featuring Shapeshifter, Ocean Alley, My Baby, Masaya, and Flaxxies, will be held on January 28 at Williamson Park in Whangamatā, New Zealand. The summer festival begins at 2 PM on Auckland Anniversary holiday; get your tickets to celebrate the event from the Ticket Fairy!
Shapeshifter, a live drum & bass outfit, are the developers of this brand new summer festival series called Beach Break. In September 2022, Beach Break announced the festival saying: “@shapeshifterlivenz are thrilled to announce the definitive Coromandel concert of the summer in the heart of Whangamatā at Williamson Park on Jan 28th.”

The five-piece band Shapeshifters is known for their DnB live performances that blend the genre with heavy soul. In 2022, the group played at Victoria Park (Plane Sailing Festival), Hagley Park, Rugby World Cup, and Summer Haze, amongst many others. Recently, Shapeshifters announced that they would be playing at Snow Machine in September this year.

Australian psychedelic rock band Ocean Alley is also set to take the Beach Break stage next week. They embarked on a UK & Ireland 2022 tour and stopped in cities including Manchester, London, and Newcastle. Their USA & Canada tour took them to venues in Calgary, Atlanta, Brooklyn, Vancouver, and more.
The band also toured across Europe and New Zealand and performed at an NSW Floodraiser in Byron Bay in 2022. Their latest release is the group’s fourth studio album, ‘Low Altitude Living,’ a fourteen-track record that was rolled out in October 2022.
My Baby, Dutch-New Zealand trio, will perform at Beach Break as part of their ongoing New Zealand tour. They have had gigs across the UK, hitting the road in Europe, and performing at festivals, including Pinkpop Festival, Down The Rabbit Hole, Wildeburg, and Woodstock Forever. My Baby released their thirteen-track album ‘sake sake sake’ in April last year.
The brother & sister duo Masaya performed at Soundsplash and Island Vibe Festival in 2022 and embarked on a New Zealand tour in support of their eleven-track new album ‘Chronicles of Youth.’ They were also special guests at Katchafire’s Australia Tour 2022. Next month, Masaya is set to take the Outfield music, food, and arts festival stage.

Along with rolling out their four-track EP ‘Beach Rudes,’ Flaxxies also played at Rhythm & Alps last year and were the supporting acts for Summer Thieves and Shag Rock! In September, they announced that they will be performing at Soundsplash 2022//2023.
