UK’s drum & bass artist Subsonic took off a six-city tour of New Zealand this month! The remaining gigs will unfold in Christchurch, Auckland, Palmerston North, and Hamilton until March 4, 2023. Kiwis can credit Audiology Touring and Distorted Promotions, the companies responsible for bringing some of the biggest names in the electronic music scene to New Zealand, for this tour. Harry Peters, best known as Subsonic, has kept to his word after a highly successful debut tour of Australia and New Zealand with Austrian drum & bass duo Camo & Krooked in 2022. He then lauded the tour on Instagram back in May 2022, saying, “I’ve genuinely had the time of my life out here. Can’t wait to be back over soon.”

Catacombs Nightclub in Central Dunedin housed Subsonic’s first stop of the tour. On the card for the evening were DnB artists 3 Iron, Jousey B2B Evo, Jhole B2B Selecta A4, and the multigenre trio Trident. This gig will be followed up with a show in Wellington at The Grand (on February 23) featuring the likes of local artists Sask, Jaymac & Vujanix, Hux & Fizzey, Worthy, Simple Conclusion & Gos.
The remaining supporting acts for the gigs have yet to be revealed. Subsonic’s penultimate gig will be held at Pointers in Auckland on March 3, and Christchurch’s Hide Club will host the concluding show of the New Zealand tour on March 4. Both events will run from 10 PM to 4 AM, with entries exclusive to people aged 18 and over.
Subsonic took to social media to express his excitement about returning down under, remarking,”NZ WE’RE ON 🇳🇿 Beyond gassed to announce my headline tour! Last time I came to this amazing country it was one of the best experiences ive had so I’m absolutely over the moon to be doing it again – its gonna be a bit silly.”
