Kta Haru, whose 2022 single ‘Love Paryo‘ launched its music video last month, chatted with us about their forthcoming performance on their home soil. They told us, “We are excited to play at one the biggest festivals in Nepal. It is our immense pleasure to have the opportunity to share the stage with international artists. We are grateful for the team to have allowed us this amazing opportunity to share our art.”

The band went on to discuss the Grasslands Festival and dropped some hints regarding their setlist, saying: “We believe our music is meant for a platform such as the Grasslands festival because we believe in making people enjoy and dance. Our set will include a solid number of reggae tunes and just chill rock and roll. Nothing fancy, nothing digital just pure good old garage and rasta vibes with a little touch of folk, blues, and some jokes to keep people smiling.”

Day Two will be headlined by French singer-songwriter and guitarist of Spanish origin Manu Chao; Delhi Sultanate; and electro/underground electronic music aficionado Aloka. Attendees can groove to the sounds of house, techno, and acid whiz Rafiki, DJ Nida, indie/psychedelic rock and bedroom pop sensation Sunflower Tape Machine, festival returnee and disco, garage, breakbeat and techno beatmaker DJ SJM, as well as four-piece experimental rock outfit Pahenlo Batti Muni on April 1.

Prior to their performance at the festival, Pahenlo Batti Muni also shared their anticipation with us. They said, “We are very excited to be trying some new material for the Grasslands festival. Being a part of the festival is also a way to test the waters with new audiences, which is always fun.”

Gokarna Forest Resort, located approximately ten kilometers from Nepal’s capital city of Kathmandu, will be transformed into a melting pot oasis of music, art, and culture. In addition to the music, the venue’s market area will possess apparel brands, local businesses, numerous food and beverage options, and homegrown ventures. Media personalities Roneeshma Shrestha and Christina Sherpa will split hosting duties at the site.
