Downtown Los Angeles’ famed Globe Theatre is set to come alive with performances by multi-genre French outfit Martin Dupont on Friday, 19 May! Kicking off from 8 PM onwards, the showcase also sees electronic music pair Xeno & Oaklander onstage, alongside pop rock duo Sacred Skin, Drab Majesty, and more! French genre-bending new wave group Martin Dupont will ignite the vintage auditorium as part of their debut tour of the United States this May. The band makes its first stop in San Francisco, followed by performances in Las Vegas, Denver, Chicago, and Brooklyn. The tour also sees them take to the stage at the Théâtre Fairmount in Montreal, Canada. Marseille-based Martin Dupont first assembled in 1980, going on to produce synth-laden hits like ‘Inside Out,’ ‘I Met The Best,’ ‘He Saw The Light‘ and ‘Just Because.’ Martin Dupont’s most recent album, ‘Kintsugi,’ features reworked versions of their music.
Martin Dupont expressed their excitement to us about the upcoming performance, saying, “We will be performing new arrangements of our songs specially created for our live show. Expect energy, intensity and passion. We can’t wait to see you.”
The night will also bring together synth-pop, minimalist electronic duo Xeno & Oaklander (Sean McBride and Liz Wendelbo), and hometown crew Brian DaMert and Brian Tarney, best known as Sacred Skin. Xeno & Oaklander arrive as part of their ongoing North America Tour 2023, and Sacred Skin will be on support duties for Martin Dupont at shows in LA as well as in San Francisco. The mighty Drab Majesty will also make an appearance for the evening’s DJ sets, with DJ Maldoror, DJ Ding Bat, and Robert Lane occupying slots on the bill.
The music will stem from the Globe Theatre, which first opened its doors in 1982. Spread across three floors, the performing arts space is one of Broadway’s oldest theaters and live music venues, measuring 27,000 square feet and accommodating upwards of 1,000 people.
