Sid M Collaborates with Reena Gilbert on Latest Single ‘What You’ve Done’

Mumbai-based multi-instrumentalist, producer, and songwriter Sid M teams up with musician, vocalist, and sound engineer Reena Gilbert on a new slow bluesy, bass-heavy single, ‘What You’ve Done.’

Music producer and singer-songwriter Siddhant Mishra aka Sid M follows up his 2023 alternative rock single ‘Open Eyes’ by partnering with singer and composer Reena Gilbert. A happenstance meeting at a convention led to the two artists joining forces and integrating their musical skill sets. ‘What You’ve Done’ unwinds a delicate blend of the musician’s melodic styles sturdy bass lines, synthesized sounds, and elegant beats. The thought-provoking lyrics of the song describe living in a profoundly poisonous narcissistic relationship.

The nearly three-minute track boasts Gilbert’s signature vocal patterns, to which Sid M notes, “The skeleton was already there and she had verses written down. I took cues from the loose storyline her verses already had going and built on it.” He adds, “‘What You’ve Done’ is a perfect blend of both of our musical styles. We have written, performed, produced, composed, mixed, and mastered the song together and are very proud of how it turned out.”

Since debuting as a solo artist with his single ‘Pills’ in 2022, Sid M has had his music featured on some of the biggest playlists in India. Aside from his solo releases, the singer/producer is a famed member of pop-duo Cryosis, who have racked up over a million streams on their music. His collaborator on ‘What You’ve Done,’ Reena Gilbert, has been steadily rising to be one of India’s renowned artists. The multi-faceted artist is known to blend electronic pop, acoustic, and experimentation into her original compositions.
