New York-based event head honchos Kronos, Lunar Lounge, and record label SOUP have partnered to produce a one-of-a-kind showcase on the Hudson River aboard the double-deck Circle Line Sightseeing ferry. Joining Gettoblaster (Paul Anthony and Zach Bletz) and house, old-school disco, soul, and jazz fame Derrick Carter on the upper deck are SOUP Label bosses Chris Love & AB Logic aka Love & Logic, and a b2b set from Denninger and Kipp. Gettoblaster hops onboard as part of their upcoming Summer Tour 2023, spanning multiple shows across the United States.

The party brews on the lower deck with the Lunar Lounge takeover. Acts tugged in include Lunar Lounge architect Aaron ‘Aazure’ Root; soulful, disco, tech, and afro beatmaker Branqueeno; musician Rich Furniss; house, breaks, and techno DJ Sasha Kords. Aazure is chalked in to go b2b with Branqueeno at the gig.
We reached out to DJ Sasha Kords, formerly Alex Kords, to get a few insights on the show! The artist shared with us, “I’m amped to be playing alongside such a high-powered lineup with both local and touring talent. Gettoblaster is one of my favorite artists out today, and Derrick Carter is an honest-to-god legend of the Chicago scene.”
Speaking of his set, Kords added, “I have a very spicy set planned and I can’t wait to see the energy on the dance floor. My sound mainly features rolling, percussive tech house grooves and my focus over the last year has been writing original tracks in that style. I can’t wait to showcase some of my favorite underground house cuts, along with a ton of my own unreleased IDs.”

Sasha Kords will be performing under this new alias for the first time. Kords addressed the transition, saying, “I also just recently changed my stage name to Sasha Kords, a moniker with deep personal meaning for me. This will be my first show under the new name and I can’t imagine a better environment to launch this next chapter of my artist journey. I’m thrilled to be part of this show and can’t wait to show everyone what I have in store.”
Boat Trippin’ cruise departs at 8 PM sharp from Pier 83 at 42nd Street, New York City, and docks at midnight.
