Magnetic Fields Reveals Dates for 2023 Edition

Emanating from the grand Alsisar Mahal among the sand dunes in Rajasthan, India, the famed independent festival Magnetic Fields has announced dates for the 2023 edition in December.

Contemporary arts and music festival Magnetic Fields has unveiled dates for its upcoming extravaganza at the end of the year. The three-day showcase will take place from December 15 to 17, 2023, with tickets slated to go on sale from July 5, 2023, onwards. Raising the curtain for its upcoming ninth edition, the theme for 2023 is “Preservation” – a call to action to protect what’s good, revive what’s fading, and preserve what’s essential for humanity.

Magnetic Fields is an independent festival assembled by artists for like-minded people. The festivals generate thousands of attendees annually and spotlights new artists, music, concepts, and experiences to festival-goers. In previous years, acts Orna, Young Marco, HVOB, Kiss Nuka, and Prismer, to name a few, have performed at the festival. A plethora of skilled folk musicians performing music on a wide range of instruments is stitched into the schedule each year.

Co-founder Munbir Chawla assures would-be attendees that the line-up will be mixed up with fresher-sounding acts this year. He stated, “There will definitely be more focus on unheard sounds and up-and-coming acts from India, and our festival commission Fieldlines, that focuses on intergenerational cultural sharing and exploring new approaches to the traditional residency format, will return for a third edition.”

Speaking about the theme of preservation, Chawla remarked, “As we celebrate music, art, and self-expression, we must also be mindful of the impact we have on the environment and the responsibility we have to preserve it for future generations.”

“From the decor and design elements to the activities, workshops, and music – showcasing artists who use their platform to advocate for preservation and environmental protection, it will all reflect the diversity of cultures and traditions that we aim to preserve and honor,” he added.

Enjoy the best-curated music and a myriad of experiences and concepts with the addition of Magnetic Words (storytelling) and Magnetic Sanctuary (wellness) spaces at Magnetic Fields this year from December 15 to 17.
