Synergy & What So Not Team Up To Drop ‘Freedom’

‘Freedom’ is a product of Synergy’s renowned peak-time drum & bass trenches and What So Not’s floaty cross-pollinating energy.

Formerly know as Segment and Concept Vision and bringing their sonic powers together to form Synergy, the Russian duo have been a consistent and powerful force in the drum & bass landscape. With releases on respected labels like Eatbrain and Blackout, the explosive style of productions has quickly earned them an unstoppable wave of respect amongst leading producers and ravers across Europe and Russia.

Providing two official remixes for legendary outfit NOISIA on their VISION imprint, they’ve continued to make their presence felt throughout the entire industry with their unforgiving sonics. Something which was also demonstrated through their hit with Misanthrop ‘Slap the Ghost’, which still remains as one of the most played tracks in the murkier trenches of the genre.

While What So Not’s ambitious and wide-ranging discography which includes aggressive festival trap bangers as well as more atmospheric electropop tunes, has made him one of the most innovative dance music names of our time.  A gold selling artist who’s headlined Coachella, Ultra and Lollapalooza, his collaborations with the likes of Killer Mike and Run the Jewels have helped enable his crossover success. From Billboard through to Triple J, his music has been heralded by tastemakers globally.

The two have now teamed up for their first-ever collaboration for a pulsating dancefloor-driven single called ‘Freedom’. It is a single which narrates their persisting journey into the echelons of dance music without sacrificing the undiluted approach to their sounds.

‘Freedom’ is sure to follow in the footsteps of both artists’ accolades, setting the scene amongst manipulated bass layers and a growing first breakdown diced by the record’s hopeful vocals. Synergy and What So Not blend the different hues of their production for this forthcoming release. With grinding levels and euphoric stabs of synthesis, it has a color reel that mixes the light and dark elements of drum & bass.
