Indie artist and playback singer Ishaan Nigam marks International Friendship Day with the release of his newest single, ‘Yaari Ke Dhaage,’ reeling in routine collaborator Brite Roy.
‘Yaari Ke Dhaage’ is a Hindi-worded acoustic single that honors the camaraderie between mates. The song is meticulously woven with steady guitar strumming and the paced use of a ukulele. Ishaan’s calming voice guides the listener on a trip down memory lane with their closest ones, as his vocals and lyrics effortlessly blend to create a nostalgic atmosphere.

Delving into the track, Ishaan tells us that ‘Yaari Ke Dhaage’ was originally made as a part of #1MinMusic for a release on friendship day in 2022. “We decided that it would be an injustice to the song if we don’t write the complete song.” Speaking candidly, the musician adds, “The song is really special as it has been written by a very close friend cum brilliant lyricist/composer. It’s special because I have been away from my friends for a couple of years, and this is dedicated to them and to everyone who stays away from their friends.”
The artist says the important role friends play in our lives inspired him to knit this track together. He states, “I believe friendship is the purest form of relationship which can not be expressed just in words. Our friends play a vital role in our life, and thus I believe they deserve a song.” From his latest release, Ishaan would like a listener to carry “a smile and lots of nostalgia.”

For the artwork depicting two friends merrily dashing in the streets and overlooking a mountain range, Ishaan Nigam used a text-to-image AI prompt. The singer tells us, “The entire artwork has been conceptualized and designed by me. I tried using AI as it saves a lot of time if we know what keywords to use for the image/text generation.”
His latest release is yet another collaboration with lyricist-composer Brite Roy. The pair have previously worked on ‘O Jaana,’ its follow-up ‘O Janna 2.0,’ and ‘Woh Raaz Ho’ to name a few. “Working with Brite is always fun and a learning experience. We both trust each other with every single song we have worked on,” says Ishaan.
Ishaan Nigam holds a Master’s degree in Indian Classical Music and has independently released 10 singles since 2019. In his career, he has served as a backing vocalist for Sanjith Hegde’s Coke Studio performance, shared the stage with the renowned singer Shaan, and also had one of his songs, ‘O Raahi,’ nominated for the IIMA Awards 2023 by Hungama Music.
