KITA to Embark on The Love Lives Here Tour in New Zealand in September

Wellington-based three-piece folk, soul, and psychedelia outfit KITA is set to energize venues across New Zealand during their upcoming multicity ‘The Love Lives Here’ tour! Get your tickets to KITA’s tour kicking off this month from The Ticket Fairy.

Ushered in by Auckland-based music agency Banished Music, KITA is set to celebrate the release of their second EP ‘Love Lives Here,’ embarking on a nationwide tour of Aotearoa. Released in March 2023, the EP brags four tracks, including the well-received plucky bass single ‘Too Much of a Good Thing.’ The forthcoming tour, which kicks off on September 26, 2023, is the trio’s first headline tour since 2021.

Comprised of musician-actor Nikita Tu-Bryant, drummer Rick Cranson, and keyboardist and producer Ed Zuccollo aka Zuke, KITA makes their way to Havelock North/Karanem, The Yard Music Cafe in Raglan/Whaingaroa (September 29), and Whammy Bar in Auckland/Tamaki Makaurau (September 30) and heads on to perform at Smash Palace in Gisborne/Turanganui-a-Kiwa (October 6), Paisley Stage in Napier/Ahuriri (October 7), and San Fran in Wellington/Te Whanganui-a-Tara (October 14). The Love Lives Here tour reaches its conclusion with a performance at the Nelson Arts Festival on October 21.

As the trio is on the cusp of announcing the supporting acts for each gig, they tell us, “It’s our first headline tour since the pandemic, and we’ll be going back into hibernation to do more recording after this tour – so cometh the people, don’t miss your chance to come share sound and space with us before we disappear again.”

Attendees at the Wellington gig will be treated to a double bill of headlining acts, as KITA will be joined by the rock and roll crew Te Tokotoru. The band just fired out their debut single ‘Te Hekenga,’ a thumping blues-rock number, earlier this month.

KITA also remarked about performing on home turf in Wellington, saying, “It is an interesting choice that our home show in Poneke, Te Whanganui-a-Tara is the night of elections on October 14th – we hope and encourage people to go vote, and come to our show after. Consider it your election night get-together. It’ll be a nice way to pass the time if the results are in your favor or not. Come get immersed in music and have a boogie.”
