The Phoenix Foundation is slated to embark on their ‘Horse Power 20th Anniversary Tour,’ performing the album in its entirety in venues across Aotearoa. Released in 2003, ‘Horse Power’ went on to become one of their most celebrated and well-received sonic creations, nominated for ‘Best Album’ at both The New Zealand Music Awards and The Bnet Awards. The tour was initially scheduled to begin on November 23; however, due to a high demand for tickets, a second show was added at Loon, Lyttelton, a day earlier. Auckland’s gig on November 24 also coincides with the release of the Horse Power album on vinyl, featuring all eleven tracks remastered on 12″ and 7″. Writing to [The Post](https://www.thepost.co.nz/a/culture/350098785/weird-nostalgic-trip-20-years-year-changed-everything-phoenix-foundation#:~:text=Singer%2Dguitarist%20Samuel%20Flynn%20Scott,has%20ever%20been%20fond%20of.), singer/guitarist Samuel Flynn Scott dipped into the album, noting, “Releasing Horse Power was our moment of arrival. The previous decade of not quite nailing it washed away with a shiny CD to call our own,” before adding, “We desperately wanted to release it on vinyl, but that obscure pursuit would have to wait a couple of decades. Listening to the test pressing now is like the final realization of those original teenage dreams.” Musician Jess Cornelius is also chalked in to perform with The Phenoix Foundation on the forthcoming tour. After the release of ‘Distance’ in 2020, the artist gears up to release her next album in the early months of 2024.
