Collaborating and working with several underground stalwarts such as Magenta, Jayline, Ironlung, Exile and more, Big Lou’s support has also included household names, racking up plays from Sigma and Camo & Krooked. As the Bruised Records boss continues to batter the scene with his big riff energy and liveliness, he has delivered an EP on Vibe Chemistry’s Make Your Era imprint and proved that he’s a multi-talented artist in the truest sense. Vibe Chemistry has proven himself as a force to be reckoned with, alongside crossover radio support and stacking tens of millions of streams across platforms. This has included collaborations with the likes of Rudimental, and now his label takes center stage with Make Your Era, which is beginning to grow into a powerful catalog. With a mix of solo productions and collaborations, while also offering his own vocals on one of the tunes on the ‘Thoughts’ EP, Big Lou has given us a complete package to dive into. Following his debut on Make Your Era, we wanted to know more about his EP and Big Lou’s journey; and the candid chat began with his thoughts on the EP: **TFword: Before we dive deeper, talk us through the early days of Big Lou; how and when did your sonic journey begin?** **Big Lou:**I played lots of instruments as a young boy and was always really interested in music; it was so powerful and gripping to me. One day, my best friend Barney, aka Nimda, introduced me to FL Studio, fast forward over ten years, and I’m still hooked on it! If I’m not writing music – there’s a problem! **TF: We love how your sound teases to hit the harder gear but finds its sweet spot right in the middle and makes it an interesting listening experience. How do you think you landed on your formative style?** **Big Lou:** Weirdly- this sort of Big Lou format was formed very early on in my composing journey, I don’t think it’s even intentional it’s just where my tracks end up when I’m letting the creativity flow naturally. **TF: The sound we spoke about earlier is heavily abundant in your latest release,** **Make Your Era. Talk us through the experience of writing the EP?** **Big Lou:** The EP formed itself naturally; they were all very prominent compositions in what I felt really represented Big Lou and my sound, each track was written in a particularly powerful time with large amounts of meaning behind it.  Through speaking with Vibe Chemistry and his team and showing them the tracks I had to offer, it became very apparent which tracks were going in the EP and I am so pleased with our decisions. What was it like working with Lostboi and AC MC on the tunes?** **Big Lou:**Working with AC and Lostboi was awesome! Both very creative artists with an exciting and commuted approach! **TF: What do you think is the natural progression for Big Lou as we head into 2024?** **Big Lou:** I’m hoping to get a bit more of a regular release schedule going as an artist on my own record label as I proceed into next year, I have so much music that is sitting on my hard drive and needs to be heard! **TF: How has the year been for you on the road?** **Big Lou:** This year has been so exciting.
