All You Need to Know About Otautahi Smoke Festival in Christchurch

In what is sure to be a firey afternoon, the Otautahi Smoke BBQ Festival returns for its 2023 edition on December 16, 2023. Quench your barbeque cravings with a round of brews set against a backdrop of upbeat music as The Rock helms the latest edition of the Otautahi Smoke BBQ Festival. Aromatic flavors will spike from the searing grills at Hagley Park in Christchurch, New Zealand, from 2 PM onwards. Tickets for Otautahi Smoke are powered by The Ticket Fairy.

The festival assembles a plethora of Kiwi breweries pouring an array of appetizing beverages, food stalls, and live music acts to delight all senses, in addition to the scrumptious BBQ choices. Food and beverage vendors confirmed so far include Black Burger, The Saucey Kiwis, Beers By Bacon Bros, Crimson Badger Brewing, and Truck Norris Texas-BBQ. Christchurch’s BBQs Direct, known for its range of cooking equipment, also returns to conduct interesting workshops and seminars at the venue.

Away from the smokey skillets and beer mugs, the live music stage will keep the vibes going with rock, pop, funky, alt-rock, and soulful tunes. Rock ‘n’ roll crew Pieces Of Molly, six-piece funk/soul outfit Somebody Do Something, Kiwi legend Jordan Luck Band, dad-rock band Con Carne, and alternative metal band Blindspott all occupy slots on the artist card. Blindspott heads to Otautahi Smoke as part of their ongoing Blindspott Summer Tour of Aotearoa.

Somebody Do Something described their set as “eccentric, ecstatic, and alive” and let us in on their excitement to perform at the festival, saying, “We are really looking forward to playing a show with Jordan Luck Band and Blindspott. Our late afternoon set will be a blend of chill tasty vibes and alt-rock you can dance to.”
