Relating the song to the finest beverages served at a lounge, the foursome describes it as the “summer feeling of a Pornstar Martini, the zest of a Negroni, and the twang of a Bloody Mary.” ‘Good Kid’ is Chump Change’s first studio production, written in their backyard and produced at Auckland’s multi-purpose music venue and recording studio, Big Fan. Touted as “woozy, summer, and romantic,” the band presents the newest outing as a “melt-in-in-your-mouth indie rock song that will fit perfectly into your summer roadie playlist.” > [View this post on Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/p/C02Ac5qPYOd/?utm_source=ig_embed&utm_campaign=loading) > > [A post shared by CHUMP CHANGE (@chumpchangeband)](https://www.instagram.com/p/C02Ac5qPYOd/?utm_source=ig_embed&utm_campaign=loading) The track is a chill pop-rock ballad and presents a swaying, laidback theme, evoking a sense of melancholy. Far from the jumpy sonics of ‘[Ocean Eyed Machine](https://www.ticketfairy.com/word/2023/03/18/indie-band-chump-change-relives-happy-moments-on-new-single-ocean-eyed-machine),’ ‘Good Kid’ is a toned-down offering with polished guitar rhythms and neat percussive patterns. In a statement, the band said, “We usually produce all our songs by ourselves on our laptop, so we had a great first experience in the studio,” adding, “This is the sound we have been trying to achieve on our songwriting journey therefore naturally, we are pretty stoked with the end result of this song.” **Find Chump Change on**: **[Soundcloud](https://soundcloud.com/chumpchangeofficial) | [Apple Music](https://music.apple.com/nz/artist/chump-change/1563492763) | [Spotify](https://open.spotify.com/artist/1dD6bNRSxNVkj6J8CuWeVI) | [YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/@chumpchange2936)** **Check out more new releases from Kiwi artists –** [Spotify Embed: TFword Selects: Fresh New Zealand Releases](https://open.spotify.com/embed/playlist/1Z9jAzRQawMvi0LiOiKabG?go=1&sp_cid=7528bc97080b496b762fe808bc68516c&utm_source=oembed&utm_medium=desktop&nd=1&dlsi=39fe96afa2a14d5f) **You May Also Like:** [Chump Change Relives Happy Moments on New Single ‘Ocean Eyed Machine’](https://www.ticketfairy.com/word/2023/03/18/indie-band-chump-change-relives-happy-moments-on-new-single-ocean-eyed-machine) [Mikaela Cougar Shares New Single, ‘Black Cat,’ From Upcoming EP](https://www.ticketfairy.com/word/2023/12/15/mikaela-cougar-shares-new-single-black-cat-from-upcoming-ep) [Marmalade Shifts Gears on New Single, ‘Awkward’](https://www.ticketfairy.com/word/2023/10/20/marmalade-shifts-gears-on-new-single-awkward) Share [X](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketfairy.com%2Fword%2F2023%2F12%2F19%2Fchump-change-explores-the-journey-of-love-in-new-single-good-kid.md&text=Chump+Change+Explores+the+Journey+of+Love+in+New+Single%2C+%E2%80%98Good+Kid%E2%80%99) [Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/sharer/sharer.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketfairy.com%2Fword%2F2023%2F12%2F19%2Fchump-change-explores-the-journey-of-love-in-new-single-good-kid.md) [WhatsApp](https://api.whatsapp.com/send?text=Chump+Change+Explores+the+Journey+of+Love+in+New+Single%2C+%E2%80%98Good+Kid%E2%80%99+https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketfairy.com%2Fword%2F2023%2F12%2F19%2Fchump-change-explores-the-journey-of-love-in-new-single-good-kid.md) ## Denver C Tracking stories in music with a focus on festivals, events, gigs, and sustainability.
