Incubus And Live To Perform In New Zealand In April 2024

Concert baron Goodvibes Promotions and prominent Kiwi rock music station Radio Hauraki catapult legendary American bands Incubus and Live for two mammoth-sized shows in New Zealand this April 2024. Tickets to Incubus and Live in Auckland are available from The Ticket Fairy.

After helming concert tours with the likes of punk rockers Unwritten Law, ska/punk/reggae outfit Mad Caddies, and the mighty Limp Bizkit, Goodvibes Promotions is poised to host one of their largest live music experiences with arguably the biggest names in alternative rock/metal. Grammy-nominated California crew Incubus heads back to Aotearoa, co-headlining two concerts with Pennsylvania’s Live, who mark their presence down under after over two decades. The visiting rock units head to Christchurch on April 2 and onto Auckland’s thriving The Trusts Arena on April 4, 2024.

Vocalist and founding member Ed Kowalczyk, who celebrates thirty years of Live’s iconic ‘Throwing Copper‘ album, takes his traveling band of stellar musicians (guitarist Zak Loy, bassist Chris Heerlein, drummer Robin Diaz, and Nick Jay) to New Zealand and Australia with ten shows penciled in for April 2024. Veterans of alternative rock/alternative metal Incubus, bragging a slew of chart-topping releases such as ‘Anna-Molly,’ ‘Wish You Were Here,’ ‘Drive’ and more, arrive on the back of announcing ‘Morning View XXIII,’ a refurbished recording of their adored 2001 album, ‘Morning View’ out May 2024.

Incubus too has a heavy touring itinerary, with a series of gigs in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia fanned out across April and May 2024, with their US Morning View tour also announced.

The concerts in New Zealand come full circle for two seasoned names in the Kiwi music scene – drummer Paul Russell and singer/guitarist Bruce Conlon, now making waves as Midwave Breaks. The two-piece independent alternative rock duo recently released their latest work, ‘Standing Inside Out,’ a slamming three-track EP, and were also on supporting duties back in the noughties while Incubus were touring New Zealand.

Midwave Breaks – ‘Souvenirs

We took this opportunity to speak with Midwave Breaks’s Paul Russell, who described their music, saying, “Our sound is quite ‘retrospective’ taking inspiration from late 80’s-90’s Rock influences, the ‘soundtrack of our youth’ if you like, so I think we’re well suited to open these shows.”

Discussing the shows, Russell said, “There is a particular interest factor to our story here, in that Bruce and I used to be in an Auckland band called Eight, and back in 2004, we actually opened for Incubus on their New Zealand tour promoting their album ‘A Crow Left Of The Murder.’ Fast forward 20 years to April 2024, and we’re doing it again with Midwave Breaks! So yeah, these will be pretty special shows for us.”
