Gaurav Jagwani Announces Second Album With New Single, ‘Away’

Mumbai-based singer-songwriter Gaurav Jagwani has graced music enthusiasts with a striking leap day release ‘Away,’ featuring the vocal prowess of multifaceted artist Shivang Arora.

Initially conceived back in 2017 during a guitar practice session, Jagwani’s new composition ‘Away,’ sonically pivots away from the vibes of his previous releases such as ‘I Wish I Were a Rolling Stone,’ ‘No Road,’ ‘Sober in December,’ ‘Mr Connor Cruise,’ and ‘The Magic When You Pray,’ and instead presents an upbeat, lush, soulful, riveting tune. The artist reels in long-term collaborator Lima Yanger on production duties, with singer-songwriter/audio engineer Shivang Arora lending the vocals and Ashwin Pai creating the theme’s astral artwork.

Molded from a guitar melody, ‘Away’ opens with somber string details, graced by firm bass plucks, and gradually progresses to a dreamy and wavy rhythm. Caressed by soothing vocal arrangments and key elements, pacifying horn segments form the outro of the music.

Speaking about the song, Jagwani shared in a statement, “It started with a simple guitar riff and till date happens to be one of the songs that I always play during my daily practice sessions. It only felt apt to release it as my first single off my second album that will be released later this year.”

Gaurav Jagwani, a staple of the Indian indie music scene, is also set to release his second album later this year, produced by Lima Yanger. Jagwani’s catalog of music includes his debut album ‘Silence..and A Child‘ and EPs ‘Whiskey & Philosophy,’ ‘Only Chord Knows Why,’ ‘Dots & Dashes.’

‘Away’ by Gaurav Jagwani is currently streaming on all audio platforms.
