Check out the nominations below:*** Nia Archives’ ‘Silence is Loud,’ ‘early twenties’ by Cat Burns, and ‘When Will We Land?’ from Barry Can’t Swim, amongst others, are up for the Mercury Prize 2024. Nia’s debut studio album ‘Silence is Loud’ has become the first jungle record to receive a Mercury Prize nod in 25 years. The last person to pick up this win was Roni Size in 1997. Charli XCX’s sixth studio album ‘Brat,’ too, has been shortlisted for the prize, alongside Grime MC, rapper, and songwriter Ghett’s ‘On Purpose, With Purpose,’ Irish singer-songwriter CMAT’s sophomore record ‘Crazymad, for Me,’ ‘Who Am I’ from Trinidad-born East London-based rapper Berwyn, and corto.alto’s ‘Bad with Names.’ > [View this post on Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/reel/C9119V7NDz0/?utm_source=ig_embed&utm_campaign=loading) > > [A post shared by Mercury Prize (@mercuryprize)](https://www.instagram.com/reel/C9119V7NDz0/?utm_source=ig_embed&utm_campaign=loading) The Mercury Prize nominees also include ‘This Could Be Texas’ by English Teacher, London’s indie rock band The Last Dinner Party’s debut album ‘Prelude to Ecstasy,’ ‘Lives Outgrown’ by Exeter-born singer-songwriter, and ‘Black Rainbows’ – the fourth studio album from singer-songwriter Corinne Bailey Rae. A panel of industry experts, including The Times’ music critic Will Hodgkinson, Nottingham-born DJ and presenter MistaJam, DJ and Future Bounce label head honcho Jamz Supernova, and Head of Music Radio 2 and 6 at BBC – Jeff Smith, joined forces to decide the nominees. BBC Music is set to announce the winners of the Mercury Prize 2024 in September. **Find the full list of Mercury Prize 2024 nominees below:** Barry Can’t Swim – ‘When Will We Land?’ BERWYN – ‘Who Am I’ Beth Gibbons – ‘Lives Outgrown’ Cat Burns – ‘early twenties’ Charli XCX – ‘BRAT’ CMAT – ‘Crazymad, for Me’ Corinne Bailey Rae – ‘Black Rainbows’ corto.alto – ‘Bad with Names’ English Teacher – ‘This Could Be Texas’ Ghetts – ‘On Purpose, With Purpose’ Nia Archives – ‘Silence Is Loud’ The Last Dinner Party – ‘Prelude to Ecstasy’ **You May Also Like:** [Upcoming Music Festivals in the UK (2024-2025)](https://www.ticketfairy.com/word/2024/07/19/upcoming-music-festivals-in-the-uk-2024-2025) [The Prodigy, Nia Archives, Imanu and More Tapped for Boomtown 2024](https://www.ticketfairy.com/word/2024/07/31/the-prodigy-nia-archives-imanu-and-more-tapped-for-boomtown-2024) [TFword Reviews: Nia Archives’ Debut Album](https://www.ticketfairy.com/word/2024/04/23/tfword-review-nia-archives-debut-album) Share [X](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketfairy.com%2Fword%2F2024%2F07%2F31%2Fmercury-prize-2024-nominees-charli-xcx-nia-archives-and-more.md&text=Mercury+Prize+2024+Nominees%3A+Charli+XCX%2C+Nia+Archives%2C+and+More) [Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/sharer/sharer.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketfairy.com%2Fword%2F2024%2F07%2F31%2Fmercury-prize-2024-nominees-charli-xcx-nia-archives-and-more.md) [WhatsApp](https://api.whatsapp.com/send?text=Mercury+Prize+2024+Nominees%3A+Charli+XCX%2C+Nia+Archives%2C+and+More+https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketfairy.com%2Fword%2F2024%2F07%2F31%2Fmercury-prize-2024-nominees-charli-xcx-nia-archives-and-more.md) ## Ivanova Writer at TFword with an interest in music, television series, films, and pop culture.
