His music echoes the hardships and demands of the current way of life and fuses elements of hip-hop with a poetic narrative. On the heels of a collaborative outing, ‘[Caramel Tax](https://www.ticketfairy.com/word/2025/02/06/tfword-monthly-spotlight-new-music-from-apocryphal-ankit-dayal-punya-and-more),’ Dizlaw has shipped out his maiden EP, ‘Dilbar,’ in which each song explores a growing shift in perspective from heartbreak to healing. ‘Jaani,’ a two-minute prelude of sorts, lifts the lid of the record and opens with dreary synth work in keeping with the EP’s poignant theme, gradually morphing to a dark bedroom/indie pop tone. Adding a hint of nostalgia as it unfurls to the sound of a jukebox is the title track, ‘Dilbar,’ which produces a swaying pop melody tied together with a mellow vocal arrangement, dazzling key segments, and a picky electric guitar outro. It is noted by its upbeat pop motif, cheery yet glum sonics, and bright guitar patterns. ‘Azaad’ offers a reflective dream-pop-like concoction with a grandiose feel that rounds out the EP.
