When we last spoke with Jungle Bells’ founder MJ Lee, he told us, “We pride ourselves on not just sitting around waiting to see who is on tour, but instead going out and getting the artists we want.”
Fast forward a month, and the forthcoming edition of Summer Bells certainly lends credence to this statement, even though there has been a slight shift in the programming. The expert promoters round together UK drum & bass duo Ed Rush & Optical, ‘All I Know’ fame Matrix & Futurebound, and energetic producer SIREN, along with a bunch of seasoned local producers for Summer Bells Volume 2. Added to the fold, the drum & bass party will toast to MJ Lee’s birthday, so do not miss out!
Virus Recordings co-founders Ed Rush & Optical return to the Jungle Bells circuit after tearing through Jungle Bells 2024 at The Masquerade, Atlanta, looping an unforgettable session seasoned with decades of their dark, underground, driving drum & bass rhythms. Ed Rush & Optical are currently locked in for a mammoth three-hour special set.
A possible new collaboration could be in the works as DnB greats Matrix & Futurebound will be touring with British producer SIREN. They halt to perform in Denver, Colorado, on July 11 before darting towards Summer Bells 2, where SIREN will make her Atlanta debut.
Cincinnati junglist Uproot the Fiasco, Phoenix-based DJ Wednesday, and Chicago’s DnB talisman Danny The Wildchild, known for his vicious cuts of jump-up and drum & bass, complete the line-up. DJ Wednesday was also featured on the card the last time Ed Rush & Optical were billed at Jungle Bells.
Norwegian DJ and producer TEEBEE was initially penciled in to appear at the birthday bash; however, a change of plans saw the organizers lasso in the equally competent Matrix & Futurebound.
