For SKY, one half of the Aotearoa-based DJ duo SKYTRI, it came in the form of a 1991 Toyota Corolla.*** Speeding past the ‘[Red Light](https://open.spotify.com/track/1ybSuW3UyJVeBBRiGYQbnw)‘ (their debut release), the Auckland-based sisters shift gears with their latest high-octane release titled ‘THE TOYOTA COROLLA SONG.’ Written by SKY, the track opens with a sample of Jeremy Clarkson’s voice from Top Gear, before zipping through deep, punchy kick drums, rapid DnB grooves, fiery bass lines, and explosive jump-up hues all tuned for dancefloor combustion. While the visuals and audio samples draw heavily from Top Gear’s “[Car vs Yacht](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e39u7hHDgvc)” episode (filmed along New Zealand’s North Island), the track’s emotion engine runs deeper. It was their first car, gifted by their father at 18. The red 1991 Corolla became a vehicle of freedom, road trips, a quiet retreat, and many early memories for SKYTRI. Years after parting ways, SKY found the same model once more, this time in a gleaming goldish-silver color and fell in love all over again. That car would soon become a trusted tour companion as SKYTRI’s DJ career took off. SKY shared in a press note, “With my new car, I took her touring around the country as our DJ career progressed. One day, we decided to make a song about her.“ Reflecting on the journey, the DnB producer added, “This journey has made me love her even more. I can’t believe it. The corolla changed my life.
