Fortnite Unveils In-Game Interactive Experience With Daft Punk

The Fortnite x Daft Punk Experience will include Daft Punk-themed rooms, costumes, helmets, and songs from their discography.

The legacy of Daft Punk lives on in their influential sound and impact on dance music. Epic Games’ popular video game Fortnite has recently announced an immersive ‘Daft Punk Experience.’ Daft Punk will make an entry into Fortnite starting September 27 at 2 PM ET.

Alex Rigopulos, senior director of Game Development-Music at Epic Games, revealed that there will be five main rooms as a part of the ‘Daft Punk Experience’ on Fortnite in a conversation with GQ. The first room was based on the ‘Alive 2007’ tour. Disco Room will center on the French electronic music duo’s Album of the Year Grammy-winning album ‘Random Access Memories,’ while players will be able to create remixes and mashups from some of the songs from Daft Punk’s catalog in The Dream Chamber Studios. You can shoot robots with sound lasers in the Robot Rock Arena, and the fifth room is a collaboration with Lego, focusing on the ‘Around the World’ music video.

Daft Punk announced their split in 2021 after 28 years as an iconic duo who have left an indelible mark on electronic music. Their collaboration with Fortnite does not imply the pair getting back together or any new music. It is merely an in-game experience, a tribute to Daft Punk, and an opportunity for fans to relive the magic of their music in a virtual space. This is also a chance for Fortnite players to discover Daft Punk’s music. The Daft Punk Experience will include thirty-one songs from their catalog.

Fortnite’s collaboration with Daft Punk will enable players to express themselves with dancing avatars at the Daft Club. You can get a new bundle as a part of this experience, featuring the band’s iconic TB3 and GMD8 helmets. It also includes outfits, instruments that can be employed in the game’s festival music mode, accessories, and more.

“Fortnite has a long history with musical artists, including Travis Scott, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Metallica, Eminem, and Snoop Dogg, and players have been asking us for years to bring Daft Punk into the game. They’re one of the most unique and innovative musical duos of the last 30 years, so we had to take the musical experience up a notch with them. In the past, we’ve put on amazing concerts that lasted 10 or 15 minutes and then they’re gone. For Daft Punk, we wanted to do something bigger, deeper, and more lasting. Something that fans could come back to again and again,” Alex Rigopulos told GQ.
