We take a look at some of the biggest music festivals in the UK that are welcoming a sea of fans to celebrate music!
Boomtown Fair
Started in 2009 but held at the Matterley Estate near Winchester for over a decade, Boomtown is a playground for enjoying vibrant energy, creativity, and exuberance. It is a realm of radiant characters, unique experiences, colorful outfits and costumes, and jaw-dropping stages bound together by music. This year the festival will be held from August 12 to 16 with Irish hip-hop trio Kneecap, Skrillex, American rapper, singer-songwriter Ashnikko, English dance music outfit Faithless, New York’s pop-rock band Scissor Sisters, Four Tet, Jamaican-American reggae musician Shaggy and more. The music and arts festival resounds with a range of genres and sub-genres, including hip-hop, house, techno, world music, reggae, punk, drum & bass and more. Over 50,000 people attend Boomtown Fair and live the magic of the festival.
Parklife
More than 80,000 revelers were expected to arrive at the Parklife festival this year. A place to be for fans of electronic dance music, pop and hip-hop in Manchester, the festival welcomes artists to perform at its five to eight curated and themed stages. The UK’s dance music giants like Calvin Harris, London-born Sammy Virji, Manchester’s Josh Baker, jungle and DnB maven Nia Archives, Irish electronic music producer/DJ Kettama, and more assembled at Heaton Park for the 2026 edition of the festival. English grime MC, rapper and producer Skepta, Swedish pop star Zara Larsson, Dutch house music producer/DJ Chris Stussy, British DnB band Rudimental, Berlin born-and-raised Marlon Hoffstadt, and more were also on the bill. If you’re someone who enjoys attending music festivals in a city, this one is for you.
Creamfields
Creamfields is regarded as one of the biggest electronic music festivals in the UK. The festival ropes in hundreds of house, techno, trance, hardstyle, DnB, and more dance music acts to play floor-shaking sets before 80,000 attendees. Held over the August Bank Holiday weekend, the festival celebrates twenty years at Daresbury this year. It is scheduled for August 27 to August 30, 2026. More than thirty stages will be set up across Daresbury Estate in Daresbury, Cheshire, for the festivities. Renowned artists like Carl Cox, Australian tech house heavyweight Fisher, Illinois-born John Summit, Paul Oakenfold, Calvin Harris, DnB icon Andy C, Martin Garrix, Alesso, Belgian tech powerhouse Amelie Lens, Armin van Buuren, Swedish House Mafia, the UK’s house music maven Chloé Caillet, Jazzy, and more will take charge of Creamfields 2026.
Reading & Leeds Festival
Just like Creamfields, Reading & Leeds Festival also takes place over the August Bank Holiday weekend. It is held in Reading and Leeds simultaneously with the same headliners. Although it started as a jazz and blues event, the festivals now offer a number of genres, including indie, rock, metal, alternative, pop, EDM and hip-hop. Charli XCX, DnB duo Chase & Status, English rapper Dave, London’s legendary indie rock band Florence + The Machine, five-time Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Raye, and Irish rock outfit Fontaines D.C. have been confirmed to headline the Reading & Leeds festival this year. The festival will welcome over 90,000 attendees at Richfield Avenue in Reading and Bramham Park in Leeds. English MC and rapper Skepta, ‘back to friends’ singer Sombr and Maine-born Role Model will be the special guests at both festivals.
Glastonbury
Glastonbury is the biggest music festival in the UK, with hundreds of stages featuring the globe’s most renowned and acclaimed artists across a wide range of genres and sub-genres. It also offers camping, wellness areas, theater and circus, comedy, cabaret, debates, and lots more. This family-friendly festival is held at Worthy Farm in Somerset and took place last year with headliners pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo, pop rock band The 1975 and Canadian-American singer-songwriter Neil Young.
Over 200,000 people assemble at Worthy Farm, the festival grounds covering over 900 acres of land. The Glastonbury Festival came into inception in 1970 and has now been recognized among the most popular music festivals on the planet. Its iconic line-ups have featured David Bowie, Beyoncé, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Coldplay, Adele, Billie Eilish, Radiohead and more. Genres from pop, rock, electronic, hip-hop to jazz, metal, folk, world music and blues can be found here. Glastonbury Festival returns to Worthy Farm in 2027 from Wednesday, June 23 to Sunday, June 27, after taking a fallow year in 2026.
