The artists have withdrawn from the platform following protests over anti-vax content.<\/p>\n

Canadian pop and folk artist<\/span>,<\/span> Joni Mitchell<\/span>,<\/span> has withdrawn her music from Swedish audio streaming and media services provider<\/span>, <\/span>Spotify. Her withdrawal stands<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>in protest over Spotify’s alleged issue with moderating COVID-19 vaccine misinformation on their platform. The <\/span>1997 rock and roll hall of fame inductee<\/span><\/a> made a statement on her <\/span>website<\/span><\/a> saying, “I stand in solidarity with Neil Young and the global scientific and medical communities on this issue”.<\/span><\/p>\n

This protest comes after Canadian-American singer\/songwriter,<\/span> Neil Young, requested Spotify to take down all his music from the platform. In his <\/span>letter<\/span><\/a> to Spotify, Young stated that he would not continue to support Spotify\u2019s life-threatening misinformation on the platform. This refers to podcast host Joe Rogan having been accused of spreading false information on his ‘The Joe Rogan Experience Podcast. <\/span><\/p>\n

Rogan has maintained<\/span>,<\/span> via his social media profile on <\/span>Instagram<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>that he only wanted to know his guest’s opinion on the matter and that he is only interested in finding out the truth. He <\/span>admits <\/span>that he has “corrected things when he gets them wrong”.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As reported by the <\/span>LA Times<\/span><\/a>, along with Joni Mitchell and Neil Young, American guitarist <\/span>Nils Lofgren<\/span><\/a> has also pulled his music off Spotify.<\/span><\/p>\n
