There are no confirmed plans for a sequel yet, and with former Bruce Wayne actors Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton reprising their roles in the next ‘<\/span>The Flash<\/span><\/em>‘ film (2022), Pattinson will surely look to make his mark on portraying the World’s Greatest Detective.<\/span><\/p>\n

‘Jacob Jankowski,’ played by Robert Pattinson, narrates his experience as an employee of the ‘Benzini Brothers Circus’ during one of the most famous circus disasters. The plot follows him as a veterinary medicine student who abandons his education for a career in the circus due to The Great Depression. His adventure begins when unknowingly he jumps aboard a circus train and gets a job as a veterinarian for the circus animals. After a while, the drama flares with Jacob beginning to train the elephant ‘Rosie’. He also gets romantically involved with ‘Marlena’, the wife of the head of the circus.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pattinson co-stars with Award-winning actress Reese Witherspoon (‘Legally Blonde’<\/em>,<\/span> ‘Walk the Line’<\/span><\/em>), Christoph Waltz (‘<\/span>Django Unchained’, ‘Inglourious Basterds’<\/span><\/em>). The movie is based on the novel ‘<\/span>Water for Elephants’\u00a0<\/span><\/em>by author<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/em>Sara Gruen. <\/span>Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon also worked together in a mother-son role in ‘<\/span>Vanity Fair’, <\/span><\/em>however, his scene was cut out from the final movie.<\/span><\/p>\n

The ‘Ringling’ circus is mentioned in the film. The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus was an American traveling circus. Hugh Jackman, Michelle Williams, Zendaya, Zac Efron, and Rebecca Ferguson star in the 2017 musical drama film called\u00a0<\/span>‘The Greatest Showman’<\/span><\/em>\u00a0based on the life of P. T. Barnum, its owner.<\/span><\/p>\n

‘<\/span>The Rover<\/span><\/em>‘ is set during a major financial crisis in the outbacks of a post-apocalyptic Australia. The conditions resemble the ‘<\/span>Mad Max’<\/span><\/em> movies and the area is in complete disarray, struggling with a lack of resources. Pattinson portrays ‘Reynolds’- a gullible and slow youngster. When his brother and their thieving buddies steal Eric’s car, Reynolds is left behind. With opposing goals, the two set out to recapture Eric’s stolen vehicle. Although the premise is simple, the characters develop and retain a good story arc, with ‘Reynolds’ not being the brightest but still knowledgeable in stealing ammunition and cars.<\/span><\/p>\n

The cast list includes Guy Pearce (‘<\/span>Memento’<\/span><\/em>), Scoot McNairy\u00a0<\/span>(’12 Years A Slave’)<\/span><\/em>, Gillian Jones\u00a0<\/span>(‘Mad Max: Fury Road’)<\/span><\/em>, and Anthony Hayes\u00a0<\/span>(‘Cargo’).<\/span><\/em>\u00a0It is directed by David Mich\u00f4d and co-written with Joel Edgerton.<\/span><\/p>\n

Life (2015)<\/span><\/h2>\n

The scripted life story of late actor James Dean and his friendship with journalist and professional photographer, Dennis Stock. Set in the 1950s, the duo strike up an unlikely friendship at Director Nicolas Ray’s house party. Dennis continues to contact ‘Jimmy’ in order to “help each other out” in their respective fields by having his photo taken for Life Magazine. The film goes on to tell the story of the 1955 photo spread that catapulted James Dean to fame.<\/span><\/p>\n

James Dean tragically passed away in an accident having starred in only three films –<\/span>\u00a0‘East of Eden’<\/span><\/em>, ‘<\/span>Rebel Without A Cause’<\/span><\/em>, and ‘<\/span>Giant’. <\/span><\/em>Pattinson co-stars with Dane DeHaan\u00a0<\/span>(‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’),<\/span><\/em>\u00a0Sir Ben Kingsley\u00a0<\/span>(‘Gandhi’), and<\/span><\/em>\u00a0Joel Edgerton\u00a0<\/span>(‘Warrior’).<\/span><\/em>\u00a0It was written by Luke Davies and directed by Anton Corbijn.<\/span><\/p>\n

‘The King<\/em>‘ is based on the story of King Henry V of England, a period drama set in the 1400s. Robert Pattinson brings ‘Louis, The Dauphin’ to life. Along with a French accent as the antagonist in the movie, he berates King ‘Hal’ and describes to him in great detail the way he will kill him. During the course of the film, he requests Hal’s surrender after denying him a duel to death, which would save many lives.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Lighthouse (2021)<\/span><\/h2>\n

A period film with dialogue and dialect set in the era of the 1800s, Pattinson plays the role of Ephraim Winslow. Being stationed on contract at a lighthouse, he must put up with the harsh and abusive lighthouse keeper Thomas Wake (William Dafoe). He must also carry out his duties, including cooking, cleaning, gathering coal, and upkeeping of the lighthouse. Thomas Wake is a superstitious individual with trust issues who is obsessed with the ‘light’ in the lighthouse. Ephraim is a hard worker who has had difficulty finding suitable employment. Due to a storm, a replacement crew is unable to arrive, and the two become insane as a result of their heavy drinking and prolonged solitude.<\/span><\/p>\n

The film is based on a factual narrative and includes references to the Greek mythological figure of Prometheus. William Defoe<\/span>\u00a0(‘The Florida Project’)\u00a0<\/span><\/em>shares the screen with Robert Pattinson for practically the entire film, with Robert Eggers as director. Robert Eggers, who also directed\u00a0<\/span>‘The Witch’<\/span><\/em>\u00a0(2015) starring Anya Taylor-Joy, will be working with her and William Defoe once more in his upcoming movie ‘<\/span>The Northman<\/span><\/em>‘.<\/span><\/p>\n
