Starting as a hip-hop producer from the southeastern part of the Netherlands, Subp Yao<\/a> found his love in the deep and aggressive frequencies of bass music. Since then, he has formed a reputation for dishing out music that has depth, aggression, and elaboration.<\/p>\n Subp Yao recently released his 4th studio album ‘Flana<\/a>‘ which he says is a “body of work around the concept of taking a stroll and absorbing your surroundings”\u00a0<\/em>and in our opinion, it’s Subp Yao’s best work to date that illustrates his decade-long journey in music.<\/p>\n To celebrate his seminal work in the bass music compass, we’re taking a deeper look into some of the game-changing tracks that Subp Yao has released over the years.<\/p>\n An exceptional feature of Subp Yao’s otherworldly music is its slow-burning yet aggressive narrative. The Dutch producer over the years, has bossed the art of churning out crunching bass-heavy bangers, and his Saturate Records release ‘Rob Boss’ is the perfect testament to his fulminating style of music. The tune is a part of Subp Yao’s thumping 15-track album on Saturate called ‘Generation Loss’.<\/p>\n Released in 2020 on the label that Subp Yao delivered his latest album on, ‘Shimmer’ goes to show how far YUKU<\/a> has come in a very short space of time. Catering to the experimental side of electronic music, this tune was a part of Subp Yao’s 3rd studio album ‘Infra Aqual’ and it is accompanied by a surreal video that explores the relationship between music, movement, architecture, and mankind’s relationship with nature.<\/p>\n Part of his debut release on Flexout Audio, Subp Yao brought Razat and Dayle on his 3-track EP and the results were fantastic. Once again, the slow-burning narrative of the Dutchman’s productions took a turbocharged turn with menacing beat patterns that were given a futuristic twist by Razat. It’s incredibly sad that we lost a talent like Razat so soon. Rest in paradise, genius!<\/p>\n Next up is by and far our favorite Subp Yao release to date. Named after the ‘Xiasha’ metro station in the Chinese city of Shenzhen and part of Unchained Asia’s ‘Year Of The Tiger’ compilation, the tune defines the city’s fast-paced life with a bone-crushing bend with its mighty harmonies and drops.<\/p>\n Subp Yao’s productions took the trap route when he teamed up with fellow Dutch producer BoeBoe for a tune that still sounds fresh 8 years later. A fun combination of melodies and festival driven drops, ‘Clappin’ can go off in any club.<\/p>\n Seriously no words for this. Listen and lose your mind.
